Biography: Dr. Barbuto obtained his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College, and his MD from Weill Cornell Medical College and PhD from Rockefeller University. He completed his internship in Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and his residency at New York Presbyterian Cornell-Columbia. After graduating residency, he completed a one year fellowship in Neuro-rehabilitation where he focused seeing patients with stroke, movement disorders, cerebral palsy, and multiple sclerosis. He is trained to perform Botox injections and manage intrathecal baclofen pumps for spasticity management. He has an interest in neuromuscular disorders and works in the muscular dystrophy clinic. His research interests include the use of aerobic exercise in the treatment of neurological disorders, in particular cerebellar ataxia.

Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children. He has a special interest in nerve problems of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, and in treating congenital hand disorders. The specialty of hand surgery melds together elements and principles of orthopedic, plastic, neurological and vascular surgery to restore and maximize hand and upper extremity function, whether wielding a jackhammer, throwing a baseball, or playing the violin. Dr. Strauch has authored and co-authored numerous articles in the field of hand surgery and is actively engaged in basic and clinical research. He served as President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2006-2007. Dr. Strauch has been included in the list of New York Magazine's and "Best Doctors in New York" in addition to being regularly listed in America's Top Doctors. He is also an accomplished amateur magician and has been known to entertain as well as to diagnose and treat his patients. Children, especially, actually look forward to a return office visit with the "magician".

Biography: Robert A. Christian, MD, MBA, is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels, including pediatric and adult patients. He is an expert in arthroscopic and open surgery of the hip and knee. Dr. Christian is interested in arthroscopic hip preservation, focusing on femoroacetabular impingement, labral tears, proximal hamstring injuries, and complex knee pathologies, focusing on cartilage restoration, meniscus injuries, and ligament reconstruction. He also serves as Head team Physician at Iona University. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Christian received a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2015. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Brian J. Hartigan, MD, Memorial Award. While in residency, Dr. Christian graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master's in Business Administration from the Booth School of Business. Following residency, Dr. Christian completed fellowships in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Hip Preservation at Duke University in Durham, NC. While there, he served as a team physician for Duke University basketball, football, and baseball teams. Throughout his training, Dr. Christian has been active in academic research, having published over 20 peer-reviewed articles on various topics related to hip arthroscopy, femoroacetabular impingement, quality improvement, value-based healthcare, and surgical techniques. His ongoing research projects focus on optimizing patient outcomes with a particular interest in complex hip and knee pathology. Dr. Christian also has a significant interest in resident and fellow education and mentorship. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). Outside of his practice, Dr. Christian enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and personal fitness.

Biography: Dr. Alexander Neuwirth is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in advanced hip and knee reconstruction, with a focus on non-operative and surgical treatment of early, middle, and late-stage arthritic conditions of the hip and knee. For patients requiring surgical intervention, Dr. Neuwirth specializes in anterior approach hip replacement, knee replacements, as well as complex revision surgeries to treat failed hip and knee replacements. Dr. Neuwirth received his medical degree from Rutgers University-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he also completed his undergraduate degree. Following medical school, Dr. Neuwirth trained as a resident in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also spent a year as a postdoctoral research fellowship in the McKay Orthopaedic Research Laboratory. Before joining the faculty at Columbia as an attending physician, Dr. Neuwirth completed a fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Neuwirth is actively engaged in ongoing clinical outcomes research in the field of joint replacement and reconstruction. His primary research efforts are focused on the eradication of infection following hip and knee replacements.
