During his time in fellowship, he was chosen as one of the top 40 nationally recognized Rheumatology Fellows In Training to participate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound training through the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists. He is certified in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound by the American College of Rheumatology. He also received a certification in clinical densitometry from the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. Due to his interest in bone health, he focused his research during fellowship on osteoporosis in patients with a history of breast cancer at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
