Biography: Dr. Danielle Ponzio is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialized training in hip and knee joint replacement and complex revision joint replacement. Dr. Ponzio was born and raised in New Jersey. She completed her undergraduate education at Princeton University, where she was a molecular biology major and varsity lightweight women's rower. She received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and went on to complete residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Most recently, she completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York. Dr. Ponzio has authored numerous journal publications and textbook chapters and actively conducts research in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery. Biography: As a former intercollegiate soccer athlete, Dr. Lisa Kaplin has enthusiasm for all things sports- and fitness-related.This passion carries into her practice as a physician and surgeon, where she helps patients get back to competitive sports, recreation and fitness.Having enjoyed biology and other sciences while an undergrad at Brandeis University, Dr. Kaplin was particularly drawn to the field of medicine by a fascination with the ability of her fellow athletes to both avoid and overcome injury.Afterward, she went on to earn a masters in medical science from Boston University followed by a D.O. from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. During the course of her early career Dr. Kaplin covered teams in hockey, rugby, basketball and football. In 2019, she completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at Wake Forest University College of Medicine.Dr. Kaplin will tell you that the patient is the priority all the time. She works to create an environment of trust and understanding, so that they feel comfortable and confident as partners in their care.In her free time she enjoys exercising and spending time with her family. She is married and has two children; a 5 year old daughter and a 3 year old son.
