Biography: I am the medical director of surgical oncology at Novant Health Cancer Institute, and co-director of the breast cancer program at Novant Health. \n Having graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from medical school, I am passionate about clinical research and have authored/coauthored many textbook chapters and peer-reviewed articles focused on breast and GI cancer. \n I have been on clinical faculty at Brown University and UNC-Chapel Hill, and served as past president of the NC Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. In my field, I do not always have good news to discuss with my patients. Honesty and compassion can help a patient and her family formulate realistic expectations, which is extremely important during the course of care. \n My husband and I live in Charlotte with our two girls and dogs, Paco and Maui. We absolutely love being outdoors, enjoy spending time by the pool, spending time in the mountains, and taking trips to the beautiful Carolina beaches with our family.
