Biography: Dr. Feder is an experienced, board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with special interests in preconception counseling. Dr. Feder joins Weill Cornell Medicine's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology after 20 years as a senior faculty member at Mount Sinai West Hospital. She has held numerous leadership positions, such as the Director of Ambulatory Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai West, Medical Director of the Mount Sinai West Faculty Practice, and a member of the Mount Sinai West Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident Selection Committee and Executive Committee. She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Feder received her bachelor's degree in history from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992. During her undergraduate career, she spent a year at King's College of the University of London studying history and English. She obtained her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1996. While in medical school, she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Feder received residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, then a teaching hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, graduating in 2000. As a resident, she was recognized for teaching excellence by Columbia's medical students. Also during residency, she was a Galloway Fellow at Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center. In 2002, she was appointed Assistant Clinical Professorof Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, a position she held until 2013. Dr. Feder is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

She then continued on as full-time faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine for 10 years. She relocated to Connecticut in 2005, working at both a private practice and a federally qualified health center. She has returned to Weill Cornell Medicine Primary Care and is currently practicing ambulatory gynecology. Her practice includes well woman preventive care, family planning and contraceptives, as well as the management of abnormal pap smears, abnormal uterine bleeding, menopausal symptoms, and non-surgical management of uterine fibroids.

While in residency, Dr. Pena was awarded "The Compassion and Charity in Women's Health Award", "The Martin L Stone Society Research Award" and "The Excellence in Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Procedures Award".Dr. Pena has been active in international education programs, including teaching updates in Obstetrics and Gynecology to doctors in Latin America. She worked as an Attending Physician in afaculty practice at St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan and New York Downtown Hospital prior to joining the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College. She has been Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2010 and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is fluent in Spanish.

Care Philosophy: While so many parts of medicine are about treating long term conditions and illness, I appreciate my part in healthcare helping healthy women manage their pregnancies and births. I may only see my patients for the course of several months for their prenatal care, well women visits, or gynecologic issues, but I use that time to listen to women express their concerns and meet their goals regarding their obstetric and gynecologic health.
