Biography: Jaime Giraldo Arango, M.D., FACS, is a surgeon at Christiana Care Health System specializing in general surgery, critical care, trauma and laparoscopic surgery. He joined Christiana Care following positions as an attending surgeon at regional medical centers associated with integrated health care systems in Iowa. Dr. Giraldo is board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Giraldo earned his medical degree from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and completed a general surgery residency at Instituto de Ciencias de La Salud, Medellin, Colombia. Dr. Tascone earned his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. He completed his general surgery residency at Christiana Care and a fellowship in bariatric/minimally invasive surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. Dr. Tascone specializes in bariatric surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and revisional bariatric surgery. His practice also includes foregut surgery, with a focus on the treatment of achalasia, gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD), and hiatal and diaphragmatic hernias. Dr. Tascone practices general surgery, including hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery.
