Biography: Robert W. Orr, MD, FACC, is a board certified physician specializing in Cardiology. As a Cardiologist, he specializes in the treatment, prevention and management of heart disease. Dr. Orr is a noted speaker and has worked extensively in television, hosting medical talk shows and lending his expertise to television news. Biography: After receiving his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from UC Berkeley with honors, Dr. Hamed Bayat went on to receive his medical degree from UCSD School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UCSD Medical Center. Dr Bayat completed a fellowship in Cardiology at UCSD Medical Center where he served the next two years as Assistant Professor of Medicine. After completing his residency and internship at Washington University Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Dr. Sawhney completed his fellowships at the University of California at San Diego in both Cardiology and Electrophysiology. He has the most current techniques and is leading the program on left atrial appendage closure to help prevent strokes in patients with atrial fibrillation. Care Philosophy: As a cardiac electrophysiologist, I strive to provide curative and life saving treatment for patients with heart rhythm problems. I strongly believe that my patients are best served when they gain a complete understanding of their heart rhythm problems and are able to participate in choosing the treatment options that best suit them.
