Biography: Jason Poston, M.D. is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He specializes in pain management for chronic pain using treatment methods such as epidural block, nerve block, epidural injection, radio injections, pain pump, spinal cord stimulator, kyphoplasty, and joint injections. Dr. Poston is a member of the American Board of Anesthesiology. He earned his Fellowship at the University of Utah Medical Center, completed his Residency at University of Kentucky Medical School, and attended Medical School at University of Washington School of Medicine.

Biography: Dr. Johnson specializes in minimally-invasive and advanced surgical treatment of the spine. He has special interest in cervical disc arthroplasty, surgical navigation and robotics. He also manages general orthopedic conditions and provides fracture care. Dr. Johnson uses the latest generation of high tech robotic assistance during surgery which allows for less invasive and more accurate fusion surgeries.

Care Philosophy: As a Physiatrist, I believe that the first step in treatment is to arrive at the correct diagnosis. Once an accurate diagnosis is established, we should proceed with the most conservative treatments. After a precise diagnosis has been made, physical therapy is utilized to treat the injury . If this fails, then non-addictive medications can be considered. If they fail, then injections may be performed. I see my job as being your health consultant.

Biography: Dr. Alex Jonathan Nelson was born and raised in northern Utah. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah, he attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine.In addition to his medical doctorate, he also completed the requirements for a Master of Health Administration in the OSU College of Public Health after receiving a university graduate fellowship.He received multiple honors during his medical studies, including a Dean's Scholarship, Dean's Leadership Scholarship, the Samuel J. Roessler Memorial research scholarship, and the Department of Neurology outstanding performance award.During Dr. Nelson's clinical rotations, he became fascinated with the function and pathology of the nervous system, which drove his decision to pursue a residency in Neurology. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Nelson did a preliminary medicine intern year at the University of Utah before moving to Minnesota for his Neurology residency at one of the most distinguished and respected programs in the world, Mayo Clinic. While learning the complexities of the diagnosis and management of disorders of the nervous system, Dr. Nelson became particularly interested in the painful manifestations of neurologic dysfunction, and turned this desire into a pursuance of a subspecialty in Pain Medicine.He went on to do fellowship training in Pain Medicine at one of the American Pain Society's clinic centers of excellence, the University of California - Davis Pain Center. In fellowship, Dr. Nelson was instructed in a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of chronic pain conditions. He became skilled in the full spectrum of interventional techniques, including fluoroscopically-guided procedures, ultrasound-guided procedures, and advanced techniques of spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation.Dr. Nelson is board certified in Neurology and Pain Management. He will be seeing patients with any type of chronic pain, but has particular clinical interest in the treatment of headaches and neuropathic pain conditions.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Kelly believes that optimal care involves spending extra time with each patient to form a partnership so together they can discuss a diagnosis, treatment options and expectations. He strongly believes most people do not need surgery to manage their spinal problems and works hard to provide patient-centered care that maximizes non-surgical therapies. Dr. Kelly has a broad skill set spanning from complex spinal reconstruction surgeries to minimally invasive techniques to optimize a plan of care for each patient's unique circumstance.
