Care Philosophy: Rahila Essani, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is board-certified colorectal surgeon. Dr Essani earned her medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed three research fellowships at the University of Southern California, where she also completed her internship and residency in surgery. She finished a second residency in general surgery. She completed her colorectal surgery fellowship program at Grant Medical Center, Ohio. She also completed a fellowship in advanced management of rectal cancer at Lankenau Hospital, PA. Dr Essani developed the rectal cancer program and the robotic general and colorectal program at Baylor Scott and White Clinic in Temple, Texas.


Biography: Ashley Althoff, DO, is a colorectal surgeon. Dr. Althoff earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL, and completed a general surgery residency at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT. She originally joined AdventHealth in 2023 when she was awarded an ACGME colorectal surgery fellowship, and now joins the organization permanently. She is the author of numerous presentations, research publications and peer-reviewed articles.
