Care Philosophy: Daniel Joseph Galante, DO, MS, is a fellowship-trained colon and rectal surgeon. His areas of expertise include the use of minimally invasive technologies in colon and rectal cancer treatment, including TAMIS and laparoscopic surgery. He specializes in the surgical treatment of both Crohn&#39s disease and ulcerative colitis, and is proficient treating all common anorectal diseases including hemorrhoids, fistulas and perianal abscesses. Dr. Galante has published numerous, peer-reviewed articles in medical publications and received the 2016 Gershon Efron, MD Resident of the Year Award from the Sinai Hospital Department of Surgery for commitment to patient care, safety, leadership and teamwork -as selected by faculty and staff of the department.

Care Philosophy: Yaphet Tilahun, MD, FACS, is an Ivy League-educated physician who completed his advanced sub-specialty training in colorectal surgery at Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School in Providence, RI. Prior to that time, he was chief resident in general surgery at Florida Hospital in Orlando, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He earned his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts (UM) Medical School in Worcester. He obtained his bachelorvs and mastervs degrees in microbiology from UM Amherst, and he is a published researcher who holds certification in minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery.

Biography: Radhika Smith, MD, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon specializing in treating patients with diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. Dr. Smith earned her medical degree at the University of Missouri and completed her residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then received fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. Dr. Smith is also dedicated to training the next generation of surgeons. She has served as an assistant professor of colon and rectal surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine and has received numerous teaching awards throughout her career. She has also served as an examiner and question writer for the colorectal surgery qualifying and certifying board examination.
