Dr. Varela did my hernia surgery and explained everything so I felt very comfortable. The results of the surgery were wonderful. Dr. Varela is one of the best doctors I have ever had!!! I am truly grateful for his superb services and his caring heart. I give him 10 stars!!!!

As a surgical nurse and a patient of Dr Varela's, I can say his skill is outstanding. His care, concern, and compassion, are exceptional.
It's been a long road and he's gone above and beyond in my care. Would I recommend Dr. Varela? I can say without hesitation, ABSOLUTELY!!!!

Dr. Varela is an extraordinary doctor. He listens my concerns and questions, provides detailed, productive answers to each one, performed great surgery, and follows up after the surgery. Dr. Varela's team have great customer service skills. I highly recommend Dr. Varela.

Dr. Varela is an excellent Surgeon. My husband is his patient as well. Very attentive, personable and professional. He has all the qualities every doctor/surgeon should possess! We definitely highly recommend him. And his office staff is unbelievable! Especially Ashley and Stephanie.

What an eventful day on Nov. 1! Horrible abdominal pains landed me at Oviedo Medical ER around 10 am. I was quickly taken to a room, blood drawn and CT scan ordered. Within a few minutes after the CT, I was told I had appendicitis and Dr. Varela was on his way. I woke up in the hospital room with Dr. Varela standing there and it was just lunch time!!! Excellent care! Great recovery! Thanks you!

At first I had a second thought of undergoing surgery thinking of alternative medicine/s to get rid of my gallstones or getting a second opinion. I was at his clinic and after talking to Dr. Varela I have no doubt and said let's do it. Dr. Varela is very approachable and easy to talk with. He's very direct which you could submit to his plan without hesitation. Thank Dr. Varela and all the staff which make my whole experience very light and comfortable. God bless and more power to the whole team!

Start to finish-reception to Dr visit, was exceptional. Great communication before & after appt, was emailed paperwork ahead of time to save time. Office is new, clean and beautifully decorated. Staff seemed happy which says a lot. Dr & his assistant Marissa treated us like peers/partners in our care; not talking over our heads.

Dr Varela is an amazing physician who actually sits down and speaks with his patients. His office staff consistently calls to keep the patient updated. Dr Varela is one of those rare physicians who will speak to a patient on the phone. He is very thorough and reviews all of the patient's prior medical history. When he feels that the patient may need to have another GI opinion, he does not hesitate to confer with other physicians. He does not perform unnecessary procedures. He is the best!
