Dr. John Shoemaker, DDS

Best of the best! Professional, fantastic staff, down to earth, don’t tooth shame and don’t high power sales you. His office got me in for a emergency situation (crown snapped off at gum line). Dr. Shoemaker was up front with options and he went above and beyond helping me in my emergency situation, did not rush me, even stayed over time (staff too) to make things right (I called 6 different dentist and no one would help me)(my dentist retired). If your scared of injections at the dentist don’t be! I did NOT feel him injecting the numbing medication, how wonderful is that! This was a PAIN FREE PROCEDURE (root canal) how he managed that is a mystery because I’m scared of dentist? I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Dr. Shoemaker and his staff.

Hygienist loosened my teeth during aggressive cleaning; Dr. Shoemaker doesn't care! He makes you sign pages and pages of paperwork, making sure he isn't liable for any damages to your teeth. This was my first visit to him; and is my last. During an extremely aggressive cleaning the hygienist loosened my back teeth, and Dr. Shoemaker just wanted to go ahead and pull them. Neither he, nor his office staff, really care about customer satisfaction--it's all about him making a buck! Stay away!! Don't ever go here!!

Update to my May 2020 review: The insurance company finally agreed that Dr. Shoemaker was attempting to bill for a second lower denture and that he should not be billing us the difference between the network savings amount and amount billed since his services were performed as a Network Provider. This ruling meant that we are due a refund. We requested the refund in JULY however we have heard nothing from his office since they attempted to bill us an additional $3205.80 and turned it over to a collection agency in June of 2020. We have never written a bad review, but felt this was the only way to get our story out and help someone avoid the pain that we’ve been put through. Dr. Shoemaker and his staff has insinuated that we were just old people that didn’t understand the process. Shame, shame on Dr. Shoemaker and his staff for treating a disabled veteran this way. ALWAYS GET IT IN WRITING!! If the provider refuses to put it in writing, run, do not walk to the door!

This place is absolutely awful ! At first they had me fill out paper work with all my conditions and medications on it. At that point they said I needed a ct scan($250) to make sure I had enough bone for implants. They did this FULLY KNOWING ALL MY MEDICAL HISTORY AND MEDICATIONS.. Well I went back for a consultation with the dentist said it would be 46000.00 to fix my teeth. I was expecting a high number well after I left I got a call from the office manager saying we can do your implants for 1

Very pleased with every aspect of the care given. Dr. Shoemaker provided a detailed plan for current and future dental care to achieved the results I desire. Every staff member I worked with from the front office, care and billing has been exceptional. I highly recommend Dr. Shoemaker for honest recommendations for long-term dental health.
