Avoid at All Costs – My Experience with Dr. Kostas
What should’ve been a simple veneer on my front tooth (#9) turned into a nightmare: I developed a life-threatening infection, needed an emergency root canal, and still have ongoing issues over a year later.I raised concerns about swelling and bleeding three times over MONTHS, but Dr. Kostas dismissed me each time—blaming my brushing, saying it was “normal,” or denying any issue. When the pain became unbearable, he even claimed the infected tooth wasn’t the one he worked on. An endodontist confirmed it was.Despite clear negligence, Dr. Kostas refused a refund, offering instead to “fix” it—which I declined because I no longer trust him. This experience has impacted my health, finances, and trust in dental care. If this review spares even one person from the same trauma, it’s worth sharing. Don’t let a single positive review fool you—when things go wrong, you’ll be left on your own.

He was so nice when my husband had his dentures made. He and his staff kept us informed throughout the whole process, from cost to fittings to how to care for them after. You are greeted when you first walk in. The parking is right next to the office. My husband has his beautiful smile back.

I was a patient of Dental Arts of Cherry Hills, Dr. K Harogiannis from June 2021 through December 2021, I decided to use him, largely because he was a prosthodontist, and I falsely believed his standard of care would be higher than a regular dentist. I was wrong. During this time, he placed several crowns for me. He replaced 2 of the crowns twice (because they didn’t fit the first time) and yet both of those required replacement a third time due to poor fit. This is unconscionable. 4 of these crowns were exceptionally sub-par; didn’t fit correctly, had open margins, open contact – one crown is literally held together with a peg and the crown doesn’t meet the gum tissue, at al. All these crowns now require complete replacement (by a new dentist). New dentist was shocked at the poor work Dr. Harogiannis performed. I have absolute proof of each of the problem crowns via x-ray, digital imaging and 2nd and 3rd opinions by subsequent dentists. None of this complaint is ‘opinion’; it is factual with the requisite back-up information. I agreed to crowns that fit well and matched my tooth color. It is the standard of care that every dentist must meet and Dr. K. Harogiannis did not meet this standard of care. Further; his crowns are ~$2,500 and more per crown and he would not provide a refund for the horrific work he performed. He does not warrant his work. He does not ‘stand-by’ his work, whatsoever (he offered to re-do these crowns for the 3rd time, but I would not allow him to touch me again). His Dental Lab must also not warrant their work on making correctly fitting crowns. His Dental Lab and Dental Technician seem to be a well-kept secret and I am still researching this mystery. My sole purpose for complaining via social media is to hopefully save some of you from going through this painful, horrific and expensive experience with this dental provider – only to have to do it all again with a new dentist. I will be elevating this complaint to Department of Regulatory Agency of Colorado, Colorado Dental Association, Delta Dental Insurance, Consumer affairs and other applicable agencies to ensure this practitioner is addressed appropriately.

My life's worst dental nightmare!
About in October, 2020 I have started dental treatment with Dr. Kostas. He placed 7 implants in different dates, 3 out of the 7 needed to be removed immediately due to them not being placed correctly and being visible and exposed. 1 out of the 3 the upper front top he tried to find different technics to save it and performed 5 procedures (surgeries) including implant placement and removal of it, it had to be removed, He kept cutting into my frenum and cover it and patch it and kept saying that my frenum gets attached and causes these issues, which was not true at all. By doing 5 surgeries only on the front top he created a lot of bone loss, gum damage and now I have very visible deep on my upper front. The other 2 out of the 3 implants (on lower left) were removed by a surgeon because they continued to be exposed. The existing 4 upper top implant must be removed due to 2 are penetrated in the sinus and not enough bone and 2 are visible, one penetrated the gum and the other is visible.

$2400 for a denture with two teeth Jan 2021. Broke a denture tooth while eating spaghetti Nov 2021, less than 10 months later. He would not warrant the denture and wanted $275 to fix it. I refused. I won't be taken advantage by him. He does not deserve even one star.

I was referred to Dr. Harogiannis by my surgeon in October 2020 for prosthodontic care. Dr. Harogiannis is very knowledgeable and professional. He listens to my concerns and spends time to answer questions. He is also very courteous, and so are his medical assistant and office staff. I am still under his care, and I am very satisfied with the medical services he provided so far. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a prosthodontist.

$30,400 for hybrid fixed dentures. Original Prosthodontist OP is on track to finish. Boss locks OP and staff out of practice and replaces my OP and crew. I repeatedly asked for a vertical midline, not canted. Boss takes over. The teeth were manly, prosthetic was over sized, making it difficult to speak and impossible to clean. Appt in Englewood to put my old finals back in. Agreed plan to fix passivity of OP's set in Ft Collins then send back to the AZ lab to be done correctly. Office manager gets OP involved and confuses all. Box of failed temps arrived, Included was a refund of $8,200 and a letter ending service. A cost of $22,200 and 2 years of my time wasted with no wearable temps and no final prosthetics.

From the first appointment to my last, Dr. Kostas was caring and was professional. He was concerned with my comfort and how my nano-ceramic implants felt. If it took many times back and forth to adjust my implants. He never got upset. To me, he is a miracle worker. I look 20 years younger and my confidence level is through the roof. He is the best dental implant dentist in Denver. I am so thankful God directed me to him. I love my new smile!

Dr Kostas replaced all the teeth on my lower implants, refurbished the holder, and redid the upper denture and all fit perfectly. He is an amazing dentist and I have received numerous compliments on my new teeth. He was reasonably priced and timely.
