Biography: I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare and help others achieve their best physical and emotional health. Family medicine has allowed me to do just that. \n I have worked hard to become a good listener. I want my patients to leave my office feeling like their concerns and issues were heard and addressed. Unfortunately, we cannot cure every disease or fix every problem, but we can listen intently, validate concerns and provide support - and that can go a long way in helping patients. \n I was honored to win the 2003 Community Teaching Award from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the 2019 Preceptor of the Year Award from Georgetown University. I am a past board member of the Community Care Center, a clinic for uninsured patients. \n My wife, Michelle, shares my passion for healthcare and helping others. She's worked as a physical therapist for about three decades. Our daughter is in the health and wellness business, and creates exercise and diet plans for her patients. Our son is studying marketing and business in college. I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, golfing with my buddies and occasionally just doing nothing.

Care Philosophy: The current approach to healthcare in America has shifted from a focus on patient care to insurance and financial gain. With high deductible plans and the increasing cost of hospital stays, healthcare has become unaffordable for many Americans - especially for those who are self-employed, contractors, or who work part-time. Families who spend thousands of dollars every year on insurance are often left stranded during times when they need help the most. Why pay all of this money only to be left with steep hospital bills and mountains of debt We know that the health system in America is not working. Thats why at Bream Medical we are doing something different. We provide Primary Care, Urgent Care and Direct Primary Care services. By providing a full spectrum of care, we aim to minimize referrals - thus reducing costs. With low-cost subscription plans and a focus on individualized and patient specific care, we hope to bring change to the healthcare system of America.

If you are unsure about a recommended treatment, tell your doctor you want to seek a second opinion. A quality Family Medicine Specialist will not take offense at this; rather, a good doctor wants to get as much information as possible to make the right treatment choice. If your Family Medicine Specialist does question your interest in a second opinion, it may be a sign that another Family Medicine Specialist may be a better fit for you.
