Dr. Springer received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. He went on to the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, NJ, where he received his medical degree. He then returned to New Hampshire to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. After a move out west, Dr. Springer completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Colorado in Denver, CO. Dr. Springer is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

After graduating from Chaminade College Preparatory, he attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Vanderbilt, he participated in the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps and received an academic scholarship. He graduated cum laude from the Vanderbilt School of Arts and Sciences with a double major of Chemistry and Molecular Biology. After graduation, Dr. Woodworth was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Army Medical Service Corps. He deferred his military duty so he could attend medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine followed by a general surgery residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine Wichita. During his career, Dr. Woodworth has partnered with the medical industry to facilitate the development, application, and advocation of medical technologies and procedures. He is comfortable being in the forefront of providing the most up-to-date medical care available. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Dr. Woodworth has adapted to overcome the hardships facing patients and continues to work on their behalf with new virtual technologies. Dr. Madrid completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at California State University of Fullerton in Fullerton, CA. He went on to complete his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine in Irvine, CA. Dr. Madrid completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico, VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM, and finished his fellowship in Gastroenterology from the same school. Dr. Madrid has won many awards and honors including Honors in Surgery from the University of California and the UCI College of Medicine Service Award. Dr. Madrid is a member of the Colorado Medical Society, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is a Board Member of the Crohn?s and Colitis Foundation of America, Rocky Mountain Chapter. Dr. Madrid is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Zihni is a foregut surgeon who joined SurgOne and the Denver Esophageal and Stomach Center in October, 2018. Dr. Zihni has particular interest in esophageal and stomach surgery including anti-reflux surgery, surgery for achalasia, gastric or esophageal cancer, and gastroparesis. He is trained in minimally invasive surgery, and can perform most procedures laparoscopically or endoscopically. Dr Zihni has published extensively on outcomes of minimally invasive surgery, as well as the ergonomics of surgical platforms and educational strategies in surgery.Dr. Zihni was born and raised in Queens, New York. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a degree in biochemistry and completed his medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. As a medical student, Dr. Zihni completed an additional year of research as a Doris Duke Fellow at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where he studied burn immunology. Dr. Zihni completed A general surgery residency at Washington University in St Louis, where he spent an additional two years of research studying ergonomics of surgical platform, robotic surgical education, and outcomes of foregut surgery. Dr. Zihni went on to complete a fellowship in foregut surgery at The Oregon Clinic in Portland, Oregon before joining Dr. Kurian, another Oregon Clinic graduate, in private practice. In his free time, Dr. Zihni loves reading, playing video games, exploring Colorado and traveling to other destinations, and spending time with his family.?

Dr. Kurian joined SurgOne in 2013 and specializes in minimally invasive gastrointestinal and hernia surgery. He has a special interest in disorders of the esophagus and stomach. He is the founder of Denver Esophageal and Stomach Center. He uses both flexible endoscopy (flexible camera through the mouth) and laparoscopy (camera through small incisions on the abdomen) in the management of these diseases. Dr. Kurian completed his medical schooling in Bangalore Medical College, India in 2001. After this he completed a general surgery residency in the United Kingdom, where he is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He moved to Philadelphia, USA to continue his general surgery training in Abington Memorial Hospital. He graduated from his training program in 2011. He has completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery of the esophagus and stomach and advanced flexible endoscopy.He is interested in the incisionless endoscopic management of surgical disorders. His research interests are in benign esophageal motility disorders, gastroesophageal reflux and esophageal cancer. He has written extensively on POEM, which is a new incisionless surgical endoscopic procedure for patients with swallowing problems and gastroesophageal reflux disease. He is also involved in research directed towards improvements in surgical education of minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery.

Dr. Patt pursued his undergraduate degree at Cornell University. He then attended The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He did his residency training at Boston Medical Center and then stayed an extra year to serve as Chief Medical Resident. He then went to Johns Hopkins Hospital to do his fellowship in gastroenterology. At Johns Hopkins Dr. Patt was awarded the Schering Plough / American Association for the Study of Liver Disease advanced hepatology fellowship, which enabled him to pursue subspecialty training in liver disease and liver transplantation. His areas of special interests include liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease. He is currently on the board of the Crohn's and Colitis foundation. He has served as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine and is currently the Chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology at Sky Ridge Medical Center.
