Dr. Barnds is passionate in diagnosing a medical problem, developing an individualized treatment plan, and implementing that plan to give his patients the best opportunity for complete recovery from injuries.

Dr. Cullen believes that medical care should be personalized and tailored to each individual patient. He takes an evidence-based approach to formulating either a conservative or surgical treatment plan based on the patient's individual needs. While I still enjoy performing general orthopedic procedures such as total knee replacements, carpal tunnel release, and trauma. My passion is foot and ankle surgery, in particular, the treatment of complex foot and ankle reconstruction including total ankle replacements, flat foot and cavovarus deformities, as well as tendon and ligament reconstructions. As a former collegiate tennis player, I have a passion for sports injuries related to the foot and ankle.

Growing up in the Kansas City area, I am excited to return to the region after training at some of the top centers of orthopedic education in the nation to provide excellence in the care of sports medicine knee, shoulder, and foot/ankle injuries. I am passionate about providing the same high level of care that I received as a patient/athlete during my high school and collegiate career. My primary objective as a clinician is to understand the desires of each patient regarding their respective injury/condition and hope for return to function, and to employ what I have learned to best achieve that goal.

Dr. Brian Schmidt is affiliated with Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Dr. Schmidt has a strong competence in the clinical and surgical management of conditions of the foot and ankle, including biomechanics, sports medicine, trauma, limb salvage, and correction of complex deformities. He uses his experience and expertise to provide the best possible care for patients with disorders or deformity of the foot and ankle; whether surgical or conservative.
