Diagnostic tools such as X-rays and advanced imaging (MRI, CT scan), EMG, and diagnostic/therapeutic injections are sometimes used to help make a diagnosis. In many cases some of these studies have already been done before your first appointment. Once a diagnosis is made, Dr. Duncan believes that educating his patients about their condition and what outcomes they should expect is paramount. Except in urgent situations, non-surgical treatments usually precedes surgical treatment.
