Ken Maynard, III, MD, is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with Coastal New Hampshire Neurosurgeons in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He then completed an internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville in the Department of General Surgery and residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in the Department of Neurological Surgery. Following his residency, he fulfilled a fellowship in complex spine at Brown University in the Department of Neurosurgical Surgery in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Maynard also earned a Bachelor of Arts in both Philosophy as well as Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University.Dr. Maynard has extensive training in complex spine surgery, providing patients with the most advanced surgical techniques available. He is a resident member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons. Carlos Palacio, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon with Coastal New Hampshire Neurosurgeons and sees patients in Portsmouth as well as at Advanced Spine and Orthopedics in Gilford, New Hampshire. Dr. Palacio earned his medical degree at Northwestern University Medical Center and completed his residency in general neurosurgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He then completed specialized training in pediatric neurosurgery at Children's Memorial Hospital, in Chicago, where he served as chief resident. Prior to medical school, Dr. Palacio earned his undergraduate degree at the College of the Holy Cross. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and has more than 40 years of experience in the field of neurosurgery. Dr. Palacio is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. In 1987, he co-founded Coastal New Hampshire Neurosurgeons, the first comprehensive neurosurgical program of its kind in the region.
