I came to Cornell University Medical College In 1980 to start my Cardiology Fellowship training. There are many reasons I feel fortunate to have been able to continue at Weill Cornell Medical College. It has given me the opportunity to interact with an exceptional group of physicians, nurse practioners, and nurses in both cardiology and cardic surgery in a hospital which is equally well staffed in all other specialties. It has allowed me to do research in the area of regurgitant heart valve disease and to teach at many levels. Most of all it has made it possible for me to be part of a team capable of the highest level of care for any patient with cardiac disease. My highest recommendation is that , at my suggestion, many of my family and friends have come here for advanced care and I could not be more pleased with the results.

As a cardiologist who specializes in heart rhythm abnormalities, I have witnessed dramatic changes in our understanding of arrhythmias and in treatment possibilities to improve health and longevity of our patients.Treatments that are now considered routine were unimaginable when I started my medical career. I am fortunate to have access to the latest advances in technology and a highly trained, professional team that shares a common goal of achieving optimal outcomes in patient care. But more importantly, my colleagues and I recognize that treating a patient with heart rhythm ailments requires attention not only to technical considerations but also to coping with the impact of arrhythmias on lifestyle and overall wellbeing. In this specialty, we have the ability to provide therapies that not only prolong life but also improve its quality. My practice is devoted to treatment of patients with arrhythmias, including rapid heart rhythms such as atrial fibrillation and flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular tachycardia. I also treat patients with abnormally slow heart rhythms (known as bradycardia). I perform interventional procedures aimed at alleviating these conditions, specifically catheter ablation, pacemaker implantation, defibrillator implantation, and cardiac resynchronization therapy.

Morgan Burrell is a Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is experienced in providing collaborative care with the department providers for patients with a wide range of cardiac diseases, including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiac arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and congenital heart disease.Morgan completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Columbia University and her Master of Science at Hunter College. She previously worked as a Registered Nurse in the Coronary Care Unit and as a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiac Electrophysiology at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine.

It is an exciting time to be a part of Cardiology as advances in technology and therapeutics allow us to provide better care to our patients. As a clinical cardiologist, my goal is to make a positive impact in the cardiovascular health and lives of my patients. In addition to cutting edge technology, I believe that practicing medicine should be individualized, patient centric, and hold true to the ideals of compassion and human dignity.

Dr. Kim was born in Ontario, Canada but traveled to the U.S. for his education. He received his bachelor's degree at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. He received his M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He then completedhis internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Finally, he completed his Cardiology fellowshipat Weill Cornell Medical College/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and joined the faculty full-time in 2007. He serves as Director of Consultative Cardiology.Dr. Kim practices General Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine at the NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College campus in New York City. His practice includes patients with hypertension, coronary artery disease and its complications, valvular heart conditions, cardiomyopathies, and those who have undergone heart surgery or interventional procedures. He works in close affiliation with all of the physicians in the Division of Cardiology, including subspecialists in Cardiac Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Catheterization, and Non-Invasive Testing.Dr. Kim teachesthe second year medical students a pathophysiology-based course on cardiovascular disease and is the co-founder of the Quality Improvement Academy at Weill Cornell/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Tiffany Choi, MSN, FNP-BC obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Basis of Behavior at the University of Pennsylvania. She worked in clinical research for several years at Weill Cornell Medicine, taking part in NIH-funded studies in patients with asthma and hypertension. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing and worked at New York-Presbyterian Cornell as a staff nurse on the cardiovascular step-down unit for many years. While there, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Pace University. She joined the Weill Cornell Medicine Division of Cardiology in 2017.

The art of medicine is always a collective effort - in order for a physician to provide optimal medical care, he or she must be surrounded and supported by the optimal team. Weill Cornell has afforded me the opportunity to work in such an environment and provide the finest of medical care. Moreover, my dual role as provider and educator allows me to train and mentor the brightest of future physicians.

Most of my patients have heritable forms of heart disease such as Marfan syndrome, familial aortic aneurysm, and bicuspid aortic valve with associated aortic aneurysm. As such, despite being a subspecialist, I have had the opportunity to serve as a 'family doctor' and to care for multiple generations within families over many years. I feel very fortunate to have a clinical practice of relatively young, highly-informed, and motivated individuals with diseases for which there are now life-prolonging therapies.
