Christopher Foglia, M.D., chief of the Colorectal Surgery section at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in general and colorectal surgery. Dr. Foglia earned a B.S. degree from Cornell University in 1995 and his medical degree at the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Medicine in 1999. His post-doctoral training included five years of surgical residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, as well as a one-year research residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center and a one-year fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Dr. Foglia went on to join the staff at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT, where he held the academic appointment of clinical assistant professor of surgery at both New York Medical College and the University of Vermont College Of Medicine. During that period, he was named a Top Doctor in the state by Connecticut Magazine and has been the recipient of several excellence in teaching awards from these academic medical institutions. Dr. Foglia joined New York-Presbyterian/Queens in 2013.
