Their goal was to create a practice that combined quality patient care with state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge research. Dr. DeBoer's medical education started and finished at Vanderbilt University, where he earned a medical doctorate and a master's degree in biomedical engineering. After finishing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Dr. DeBoer also completed a fellowship under Dr. Michael Christie at Vanderbilt. Dr. DeBoer is the Joint Replacement Research Program Director for Sarah Cannon Research Institute. His research focuses on improving the outcome of joint replacement surgery and the biomechanics of the hip and knee joints. He is currently the chairman of the Clinical Best Practice Committee on Joint Replacement Surgery for the 180 hospitals in the HCA Healthcare network. During her residency training at Baylor Scott and White, in Temple, Texas, Dr. Brace served as chief resident in her final year.Dr. Brace earned her podiatric medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences. She attended College at Texas A&M university.While she enjoys all aspects of podiatric medicine, Dr. Brace has a special interest in sport medicine and loves being able to get her patients back to activity again.Dr. Brace is originally from McAllen, Texas, and grew up in a family full of podiatrists. She is currently enjoying living in Nashville and making it her new home. She loves all things outdoors and can normally be found on a hiking trail or fly fishing. She used to be an avid equitation rider and hopes to be able to get back into it. She loves spending time with her friends and family.
