Business Office Failure to File Insurance Claim
CONCENTRA EMERGICARE, PUEBLO, CO! QUESTIONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES AT WORST, SLOPPY AT BEST. I had to have surgery last September 24. A few days before surgery, September 19, I caught a common cold. I called my surgeon to ask if that was problematic? They said it shouldn't be a problem but I should get a nasal swab. I went to Concentra Emergicare on Elizabeth Street. They scanned my insurance card, took my copay, and swabbed my nose. I was there, maybe 20 min. A month later, I get a bill for $353.00! I called my insurance, Anthem BCBS, and asked why they didn't pay this? They did not have a claim for that visit. Since then I asked the EC office in Broomfield to submit a claim. They say they did. I've since rec'd an EC bill stating, 'You were not eligible for insurance coverage at time of service.' I have had the same insurance plan for many years. I will pay what my ins says I owe. Instead of making claim to my insurance, they sent me to collection? You can't make this up.
