Dr. Cheek is Great
Dr. Cheek performed a total replacement of my left shoulder in July. The results have been excellent. I first started having shoulder pain from cartilage deterioration in 2014. Dr. Cheek diagnosed it as osteoarthritis which would likely progress as I aged. To slow the progress, he recommended PT (a series of daily shoulder stretches) with occasional cortisone injections for pain management. He was definitely not one to immediately move to surgery. After 9 years the condition had advanced to the point where he advised surgery. It was performed at Holland Hospital. I was admitted at 11:30 and released to go home at 6:30. He had forewarned me that the first 2 weeks would be challenging as my arm and shoulder would be mostly immobilized and I would need medication to deal with the pain, however, it would improve with time. After 3 months I can do many activities without any pain. Dr. Cheek is an excellent surgeon and Shoreline Orthopaedics is a well-organized, caring practice.
