My mother was a patient of Gastro East for many years. Even though she told them of her family history of pancreatic cancer, they didn't take her concerns seriously until it was too late. I would not recommend Gastro East. They are only interested in performing colonoscopies and making money. A colonoscopy and a standard endoscopy can not generally detect pancreatic cancer. They didn't order imaging for my mother until she begged them to and died less than 4 months later. Once she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, they were also not helpful in referring her to oncologists. I had to personally reach out to other team members for them to refer her to Duke. Please find other care, particularly if your family has a history of pancreatic cancer.
