I went to Dr. Baird for neck pain with nerve involvement. Dr. Baird stated he thinks it is more muscular and prescribed 4-6 weeks of PT. I asked if he looked at my x-ray and he said maybe he will look at it later. After only 2 sessions of PT, my symptoms became worse. I just felt like this wasn’t right, that I wasn’t being taken seriously so I went for a 2nd opinion. This physician actually looked at my x-ray and evaluated my symptoms. He sent me for an MRI which revealed I have spinal cord compression which is actually keeping my spinal fluid from freely passing through at the compression site which will require surgery. When I saw my x-ray and showed it to the physicians I work with, they could not understand how I didn’t have an MRI immediately as the x-ray clearly shows my cervical spine is not aligned properly. I hate to think what would have happened had I continued PT.
