Poor care
I was impressed during the consult and review enough to proceed with the recommended surgery. Post-op care fell short, including a confusing op report by his PA 2 weeks post op, and difficulty getting in for 6 week follow up pushing it to 8 weeks. At 6 weeks I was supposed to be able to resume full activity, but I was still experiencing swelling and more pain than prior to surgery, and limitations in range of motion and strength related to the pain/swelling. Finally when I saw Dr. Wyland for the first time post-op at 8 weeks, he drained fluid and injected cortisone and two weeks later Hyaluronic acid (was supposed to be with his PA again, but I insisted on Dr. Wyland). Now I am 1 year post op and am still dealing with swelling, pain, limited range of motion and strength. I was very physically active prior to the surgery, and am now significantly restricted. My life has changed. I don’t feel Dr. Wyland had time or interest enough to provide good care. I would NOT recommend him.

Dr. Wyland is an a good surgeon but his Greenville office is terrible to deal with! From Felicia who doesn’t understand how to Bill your insurance to actually trying to get an appointment. It is complete chaos! Won’t be going back again.

My initial visit was 11/2016. Since then I've yet to hear back from his scheduleler Pam because I was told that I was on a donor wait list. We tried calling multiple times to get an update but no new information or no call back from the scheduler. Unfortunately, my knee has only gotten worse and my recent pain reminded my wife that we've yet to hear back from Pam in regards to scheduling my surgery. We call the scheduler and express our concerns in regards to how long it's taking so long. Come to find out I was never on a list and the whole time I was waiting for no reason. Now I'll need to begin the whole process again including MRI'S, xrays and lab work because it's been 3 years since we started working with this practice. At this point, I just want all my records and images so I can find another doctor. I ask the scheduler if she can send me a medical release form so I can get my information and go elsewhere. She states that I can only get one in person and she can't email it to me.

I am writing this on behalf of my husband, who just days ago, underwent a reconstructive knee surgery under Dr. Wyland's care. This experience has been one of the BEST medical experiences we have had from a medical professional and environment-EVER! Dr. Wyland is respectful and professional. He's an active listener and very transparent with the patient. He explained things in a way that could be easily understood. The staff we have encountered thus far under GHS has been GREAT!

Many years back, I broke a tibia which also dislocated the ankle. Doctor Wyland, with another surgeon, repaired my leg. The recovery was very brief. The pain was minimal and seemed to occur only when I made required co-pays with Proaxis Therapy. I continue to ambulate normally because of them.
