Care Philosophy: Talkspace partners with care providers who find satisfaction in providing therapy in a way that prioritizes the client's convenience and preferences. Because all therapy takes place virtually, through messaging, live virtual sessions, or both, providers can communicate more frequently and casually in comparison to traditional face-to-face therapy. Talkspace treatment methods are supported by scientific research and are committed to non-judgmental care that is inclusive and respectful of cultural and other identities. Talkspace patients are matched with the best provider for them based on their needs and availability during the registration process. Once matched with a provider, patients may change at any time, and may contact support to request a specific provider. *The above is attributed to Talkspace and not the provider.*

Biography: Hello. I appreciate you taking the time to get to know more about me. I have been on planet earth for a long time. I so appreciate having the opportunity to see the consciousness of mankind expand in many ways. And in many ways, it has stayed the same. I would like to think that my life experience has allowed me to experience a range of emotions, trials and tribulations that contributes to my ability to listen and empathize with your situation. The primary trait I bring to the table is that of the wounded healer. I grew up in an abusive atmosphere, and spent most of my life trying to "figure it out". I have experienced many different types of therapy, many of them cathartic and body oriented. I have always found a sense of home in my body. We now know that the heart and the gut both have more neurotransmitters than the brain. I also try to convey the power of Mother Earth to support you on your journey. You are never really alone. The mind is not always the best place to look for solutions, especially for body issues and trauma. Research has proven this to be the case. I have lived in many places, travelled the world, and look forward to spending my elder years sharing what i have learned. I love the West Coast. I grew up in New York City. while there I was a teacher, a dog trainer, a professional dancer, and I performed off off Broadway doing Primal Theatre. I performed for many years doing Playback Theater, a wonderful form where we played back audience member's stories for them. I have been an entrepreneur and business owner for decades, providing tools and information to help people live a happy, healthy, long life. I have coached and worked with many business owners and family businesses. I am confident that I can provide you with a compassionate ear, be a witness to your areas of concern, and help move you towards your goals and aspirations.

Biography: RELATIONSHIPS and SELF-ESTEEM: Online Video Counseling Sessions for California Residents Relationships are important, meaningful, even joyous parts of our lives. And yet, relationships can be a source of anxiety, frustration, and heartache. All our relationships, from the time we're little, leave an imprint on our hearts and minds. The way we view ourselves and the world around us comes from what we learned in those early relationships. Fast forward to the present. Sometimes it's hard to set healthy boundaries in relationships. Sometimes it's hard to communicate what you really need, in a way that the other person can truly understand. Sometimes you find yourself feeling resentful. Sometimes you feel guilty when you say "no" to someone else's request. Maybe you feel out of alignment with yourself - like your focus is going on the other person too much, and not enough on you. Maybe you find yourself bending and acquiescing too much, to what other people want. So, ask yourself: Are you able to communicate clearly with others about what you want and need? Does it turn into an argument whey you try? Do other people (your partner) make you feel angry more often than you would like? Do you ever tolerate disrespectful or inconsiderate behavior from other people? (We teach others how to treat us, based on what we're willing to tolerate.) Do you feel yourself getting emotionally triggered by other people? Do you have a calm, rational way of managing your triggers, or do you tend to lose it? Do you find yourself jumping to conclusions about what other people are thinking and feeling? I specialize in relationships and self-esteem. In this work, we focus on building the self-confidence and self-worth it takes to have healthy relationships. This is about personal empowerment and emotional growth. It's about uncovering old, outdated belief systems that undermine relationship success, and replacing them with new empowered and confident ways of being. The results lead to a boost in self-esteem, self-worth, self-confidence, and self-love. Anxiety and depression drop down, and confidence, productivity, and a sense of well-being rise up. When the relationship with the Self improves, relationships with others improve. It all starts with you. If you show up, ready to get to work, ready to focus on your Self and your truth, then you ought to get great results from this work. I'll be your emotional support partner, and we'll get things done. My coaching/counseling practice supports inclusion and diversity. To quote a popular meme: love is love, black lives matter, climate change is real, immigrants make America great, and women's rights are human rights.

Biography: Life is often difficult and challenging in the best of times. When you face anxiety, stress, depression, and feelings of inadequacy, the pain can be overwhelming. Life changes, relationship issues, family stress, and career challenges can activate deep feelings of confusion, failure, and unloveableness. If life has become too difficult to manage on your own, and you need assistance and support to sort things out, make necessary changes, and discover your innate talents and value, I can help. I have been working with people to confront and grow from the pain in their lives for 42 years. I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology Berkeley and am a licensed psychologist in Texas and California. During my career I have worked in community mental health, private practice, inpatient facilities, business corporations, and nursing homes. The settings change and the content of people's problems vary, but the underlying conflicts that cause psychological and emotional pain do not. Everyone wants to be heard, their issues understood, and to feel valuable and loved. I use a therapeutic approach that integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic principles, and positive emotional support to create a safe space to explore and heal the childhood wounds that make you feel alone and misunderstood by friends, family, spouses, significant others, and the world. Together we will challenge negative self-talk, destructive behaviors, and repetitive patterns that end poorly, cause pain, and reinforce feelings of self-doubt and worthlessness. We will discover new and constructive ways for you to re-frame ingrained beliefs, change painful and self-negating thoughts, and free you from old dysfunctional decisions made long ago that are still impacting your daily life. Therapy is a journey. Sometimes we need a tune-up and sometimes an overhaul. Either way, our work together will help you to discover new strengths and skills you never knew you had, develop constructive and healthy ways to face life's challenges, and free you to move forward in life with freedom and joy.

Biography: Greetings! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT) and I have been working in the counseling field for about 10 years. I have experience in conducting individual, marital, pre-marital and group therapy, in-office and online and in outpatient settings with clients who are presenting with depression, anxiety, relationship and parenting issues, teen concerns, and a wide range of other challenges and life adjustments such as: grief/loss, self-esteem issues, trauma, abuse, changes in the home, co-parenting issues, military life issues as well as personal growth and crisis. I mostly tend to draw from the cognitive behavioral approach because I believe that a good collaborative approach between client and therapist is conducive to a great outcome in treatment while addressing disturbances of cognitive processes that can affect functioning with a focus on changing cognitions to produce desired changes in affect and behavior. This means that I make an effort to check in with my client to consider the therapeutic relationship, I may assign homework as an optional exercise to further treatment while psycho-educating the client so that they are aware of how treatment will be structured and what will be focus of treatment. My approach is generally time limited and focused on addressing a structured target problem. While I may also draw from other modalities, such as solution focused and client centered approach meaning that I will address short-term goals and long-term goals while meeting the client "where they are" and not rushing the treatment. My goal is to create a welcoming, inviting environment and help in discovering themselves and bringing awareness to the client so that they may take an active role both inside and outside the therapy sessions and develop strategies to address the behavior changes they want to achieve. I also provide Christian Counseling as a guide to help clients achieve peace and provide support from a spiritual perspective. My Educational Credentials include: - Licensed by the State of California, Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) - Phillips Graduate University Masters of Arts in Psychology through the Marriage and Family Therapy program - Certified in Managing and Adaptive Practices (MAP) an Evidenced Based Practice -Certified in Seeking Safety an Evidenced Based Practice - Certified in Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) an Evidenced Based Practice I enjoy and feel honored to be a part of someone's personal experiences, and to be a part of their personal growth. Biography: Do you ever feel alone and overwhelmed when facing life decisions? This could involve a relationship, your work/career, the aging process, or anything else that creates anxiety and stress for you. I can help. Of course, you will want to know my educational and licensing background: I received a Batchelor's degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge in 1987 and a Master's degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy in 1989 from California Family Study Center (now known as Phillips Graduate University). After completing a 3000-hour internship, I took my state written and oral examinations and, in 1992, I received my license from the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist. You will also want to know my counseling background: During my internship, I worked with clients who expressed dissatisfaction with parts of their lives and a desire to make their lives better. Most of their discontent was due to problems in various types of personal and work-related relationships, and we worked together to alleviate feelings of anxiety and stress. During my internship, I also spent some time training in a psychiatric hospital setting, in a drug/alcohol abuse center and in a facility for abused children. Once my internship was completed, I had a small private practice in West Los Angeles. Eventually, I met my now-husband, moved to Palm Desert, and had a small private practice there until we moved to Santa Barbara. In addition to a private practice in Palm Desert I worked in a hospital there facilitating groups which focused on issues with major depression. My husband's work took us to Santa Barbara, and I changed my license status to inactive so I could help him in his business. After five years in Santa Barbara, my husband retired, and we moved to Auburn in Northern California where I worked for over twenty years in real estate. Although I did not work as a counselor since we moved from Palm Desert, I continued to rely on my education and experience as a counselor in both my personal and work-related relationships. In addition, I have used those tools as I have faced my own aging process. Now that I am in my own "winter years," I have had a strong desire to be of help once again to people who want to make their lives better. I am confident that my 60+ years of life experience along with my education and previous counseling experience give me what is needed to help others with their relationship issues, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and coping with life changes. Finally, you will want to know what my approach to counseling is: I rely on a combination of Person-Centered, Cognitive, and Behavioral theories. I am patient, empathic, and non-judgmental. My objective is to create a safe space where you can discover how to make your life better. Together, we will work on defining and understanding "your story." You will provide the content by telling me "your story." What is working. What isn't working. Your goals. Your expectations for counseling. Your story will include your joy, your sadness, your anger, and your fear. I will focus on your feelings as well as your thoughts and your behaviors so we can figure out how these things may contribute to your unhappiness, disappointments, frustrations, and life dissatisfaction. I will help you identify feelings that you can't. I will help you identify any detrimental thoughts and behaviors. Sometimes I will ask for clarification to make sure I understand. Sometimes I will probe to help expand the content of "your story" and help you edit it as needed to create clarity. You will decide if/when your goals change and when counseling should come to an end. Although your story' will continually change throughout all your life, you will decide when you are ready to work on "your story" on your own. When that time comes, you will let me know so that we can start the process of ending our work together. I will tailor our work together so that it meets your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started! I look forward to joining you for a little while on your journey to a happier, more contented life.

Care Philosophy: Talkspace partners with care providers who find satisfaction in providing therapy in a way that prioritizes the clients convenience and preferences.
