Biography: I've always loved being active - participating in soccer and tennis, dance and downhill skiing - as I grew up in New Jersey and went to school in upstate New York. That passion provided a natural push toward a career in physical therapy, which would allow me to help others heal after injuries. \n After graduation, I moved to North Carolina to complete a neurologic physical therapy residency at Winston-Salem State University. It deepened my interest in helping patients whose bodies aren't functioning properly due to sudden or long-term issues in the brain, spinal cord, muscles or nerves. It was during my residency when a family member was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. This strengthened my resolve to focus my expertise in helping patients with neurologic conditions address both their visible and hidden needs. \n I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy. I am a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist. \n Everyone who comes to us for help has different wants and needs. My aim is to build a positive and trusting relationship to help each person regain independence and achieve his or her specific goals. \n In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, biking and, when I can, hitting the ski slopes out West or up North.

Biography: A knee injury suffered on the soccer field piqued my interest in becoming a physical therapist. I started as a volunteer in a local clinic at age 14 and worked as an aide throughout high school and college. In all, I have been active in the profession for more than 30 years, and I still love coming to work each day. \n I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. I am trained to assess and treat problems originating in the spine, extremity joints, muscles and tendons. \n With a special certification called LSVT BIG, I can offer evidence-based treatments for people with Parkinson's disease and related neurological conditions. I also hold kinesiology taping certification, which has equipped me to help athletes and others use kinesiology tape to enhance performance and prevent injuries. \n I believe in treating the whole person. I take time to get to know my patients personally so we can tailor your treatment to meet your needs. Whether your goal is to care for a loved one, put on your own shoes or return to your preferred exercise, you and I will work together as you move toward your goals. \n In my spare time, I love getting outdoors. Biography: In 2021, I fulfilled a long-cherished dream: earning my doctorate in physical therapy. It is the capstone of more than 12 years of professional practice and continued study. \n I am certified as a clinical specialist in orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and as a clinical instructor by the American Physical Therapy Association. \n I am also certified as a trigger point/dry needling therapist by the Certification Board of Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists. I use this innovative therapy to treat pain caused by sensitive patches of muscle tissue known as trigger points. Dry needling uses a thin needle to release these trigger points and relieve pain. It has helped many of my patients. \n I've learned during my career to always keep the whole person in mind when determining the best possible care. My goal is to make patients feel at ease during treatment. But I also aim to empower them to take responsibility for their care, as well. I do not fix people but rather guide patients through the process of improving themselves. \n I'm a North Carolina native and have been married since 2009. Our household includes two boys. When I get the time, I enjoy crocheting, making handicrafts and training for half-marathons.
