The worst ever. My experiences with him were very similar to others on this site. Dr. McMurtray is uncommunicative and avoids addressing any challenging issues/concerns that families can encounter as result of a family member who has dementia. It's a shame that someone like this can even be allowed to practice medicine. He lacks major emotional intelligence. Literally ignores you when you try to discuss matters with him.

Uniquely unhelpful. Borderline combative. Uninterested. Disengaged. Condescending. Wasted our precious effort and time.

This man couldn’t even stand beside his diagnosis when the family needed to conserve their family member. This man shirked responsibility and then left them with no resources or referrals for their battle with Lewy body dementia. He is negligent and actually put them at risk of his patient causing financial harm to the family by not taking action to allow them to assume power of attorney when the patient was trying to close bank accounts and change long standing investment accounts while suffering from delusions. When asked to stand beside his diagnosis so the family could protect the patient he said “he didn’t get involved in family matters.” Which is exactly what he is licensed and qualified to do. This Dr. and UCLA should reconsider their handling of new onset dementia cases. This family was left to navigate the system on their own putting them and their loved one in danger. This Dr. actually put his patient in harms way.
