Dr Ray has a good “bedside” manner. He an his staff are very attentive and nice. Office wait times are long but that is because he gives his attention to patients and listens and that takes time.

Awful Experience
This was my third trip to Dr. Ray for excessive wax removal. It was different in that this time I saw him first instead of last. He came in with his assistant and started the wax removal. He didn't use suction but used micro-otologic instruments. It was unpleasant. However, he started making comments about my using cotton swaps. I said I wasn't using them. He then went on to say he was starting me on a solution for the itching. I said it didn't itch. He then told me he uses a special pharmacy. He left the room and as I started to tell his assistant she needed to send it to the pharmacy my insurance wants me to, he called her out. A prescription was mailed to Hill Derm Pharmacy. They are a cash only pharmacy. My insurer left him a message to send it to my pharmacy. He never did. I have no symptoms of his diagnosis either. My ears are not red, itchy, scaly or have any signs of eczema. It only hurts from the instruments he used. Office manager is also rude and very unprofessional.

Dr Ray is good, staff not so much.
I was told I would get a phone call after testing. After waiting a week I called, but no one returned my call. Another week went by and I called again. Finally got a call back from Alicia. She was unfriendly and unwilling to help me find a way to obtain test results.

I've been waiting an HOUR for my appointment. This happens every time because he prefers to double book. Still waiting . . . I will never come back.

I felt like I was dying. I was very sick. He did a sinus surgery to open a sinus. I felt so much better and he has so much empathy and compassion. He is so thorough. He gave me excellent information on everything he did for me during the surgery. A U of A grad years ago. A+++++. Thank you Dr. Ray! ,

Saw Dr. Ray for a growth in my nose. Left nostril. He checked it out and informed me that he would need to put me out to remove it. Then he said while your out you should let me fix your septum. He told me he did not recommend often but in my case it would give me great relief, my right nostril was 100% blocked. Funny part is I did not know I needed relief. His confidence told me he knew what he was saying and being honest. My PCP had looked in my nose several times and mentioned the blockage but never referred me to an ENT. She had sent me for a sleep study and they found no problems with breathing in any form. Well Dr. Ray preformed his magic and for the first time in ten years I am sleeping well enough that I am dreaming again. In my case this man is a saint. Being able to breath and sleep has just improved my quality of life ten fold. Still have some heath issues but they are far easy to deal with now that I can get some true rest.

Dr Ray was very compassionate. Took the time to explain. Although we had to wait 45 minutes to see him because of an emergency, and the waiting was hot and crowded, it was worth the wait. Highly recommend!

Initial visit Nov 18, Dr. Ray advised staff would call to schedule additional testing but they dd not. I've since called to set up the appointment myself and required to leave a message. It has been another four more days since I've done that, and still no response. Tests should have been scheduled before I left on my initial visit, especially since they were to be done at the offices. I also have questions for Dr Ray that I can't ask. With Covid, time matters logarithmically, especially when underlying medical factors are in play. So this is more than mere inconvenience or nuisance.

In just a few minutes of talking with me and examining my nose and throat, Dr Ray explained to me my problems and presented a workable treatment plan. He always comes in the room with a smile on his face and has a genuine love for his patients. He is the best ENT in Tucson.

Dr. Ray has been amazing. I was referred to him for balance problems and he discovered I had a brain tumor as results from inner ear did not indicate the problem was caused by ear issues. He made the diagnosis in area not his specialty, and referred me onto to Neuroscience Center surgeon. I can't say enough how grateful I am for his meticulous care.

Best experience ever!!!! The first time I saw him, I waited over an hour. I thought it was funny because other patients were getting upset for having to wait but I'd rather wait to be seen by a professional...someone who knows what they're doing... than to be seen right away, by someone who is not willing to invest time in finding a solution to my problem. He also has a great sense of humor. Very much worth it!

On scale of 1-5, doc said mine were only at 2 now but Ray recommended balloonplasty for my sinuses & allergy testing of sinuses. Saw Tucson's head allergist/ immunologist for my asthma/allergies; had allergy testing performed there. Unable to get back to see Ray until a year later when symptoms recurred. Ray didn't believe allergy test results by allergist & scolded me for not returning sooner. Competent, yes - compassion, well maybe I caught him on a bad day but I'm not returning!

He put tubes in my childrens' ears which was a great relief for my family. He cares about his patients. He seems to enjoy the work too. He also helped me with a hearing issue (loud noise injury) and offered to help review my thyroid scans.
