Dr. Adarsh Varma, MD

Dr. Varma is wonderful. Knowledgeable, caring, and explains things thoroughly. After several months of constant pain and nausea, and a previous gastro doctor not taking my condition seriously, I went to Dr. Varma. He accurately pinpointed the issue and I am confident that I am finally on the path to wellness. I am so grateful to Dr. Varma and I highly recommend him to anyone who has gastro issues. I won't ever see any other gastro doctor than him. He's the best!

I’m acutely aware that many of my doctors at Henry Ford are extremely busy and that includes Dr. Varma….. but he made the time to address my situation (which quickly escalated) as my health and energy issues were keeping me from going to work.His time, expert attention to MY HEALTH, referral of specialists and most of all finding my deficiencies B-12, Cortisol and other abnormalities has saved my life!! I am extremely grateful he is a doctor that is vested in his patients!

After an out patient procedure I noticed different sample measurements in Dr. Varma's post procedure report and the pathology report and asked Dr. Varma for clarification. Dr. Varma reviewed my case and contacted the pathology doctor. Together they gave me a clear answer and explained the results with details that I understood.

It was nice talking with the nurse and doctor.

Dr. Varma is not the first gastro doctor I have been to, but he will be the last. He goes above and beyond! He takes the time to look into issues you are having; more than any other doctor I have ever worked with. He explains things with both medical and non medical terms so you fully understand what is going on, what next steps are, options, and offers websites, hand outs, and follow up with specialists if needed. Because of him, I found more answers about my medical problems than I have in years. His thoroughness in researching my gastro problems lead to me finding out a rheumatoid condition in its early stages, as well as a severe neurological condition I was not aware of. He is basically lengthening my life span and making it easier to actually live.

I am very Happy with Dr. Varma and The GI team at Henry Ford Dr, Varma was very polite and very Professional . I would refer all of my family and friends to Dr. Varma for any GI issues. He is Awesome!

Dr. Varma is not only a very knowledgeable GI physician, he has an excellent bedside manner. He explains everything with great detail and answers any questions you may have. He is very thorough and shows great concern for his patients. He may look like a kid fresh out of college, but he has the knowledge and experience of a tenured faculty physician. To top off his excellent skills, he has The Best personality!

After my first consult with Dr Varma - I walked out and said to my husband, that is one of the most thorough consults I have ever had, the questions he asked, the way he explained the colonoscopy procedure and how he answered my questions so thoughtfully was incredibly reassuring. Subsequently, his care for me since then has been equally as impressive and reassuring. I highly recommend Dr Varma.

Dr. Varma was the ONLY physician in the past several years to actually listen to my concerns. In the past other doctors just kept putting me on the same medications, even though I would tell them they did not work. I had given up going to GI doctors because the never listened or helped me, untill Dr. Varma. He ran new diagnostics and found out what was really going on. I am very grateful for him because if my condition had continued to be misdiagnosed I would be in serious trouble later on in life.
