Dr. Alex Melamud, MD

Dr. Melamud is simply superb in every respect. His professionalism, compassion, and courtesy are exemplary. He displayed sincere concern for my issues, listening patiently and providing exceptionally clear answers and explanations of my condition and treatment options. He showed me the imagery highlighting the areas that required attention. I never felt rushed or that he had other patients to see. The Clinic staff and nurses are cut of the same cloth. At this point I can't imagine going to another medical clinic for me treatment and feel both blessed and privileged to be a patient at The Retina Group of Washington.

Dr. Melamud is always professional, personable, and informative. He clearly is an experienced wxpert in his field and inspires confidence in his treatment recommendations.

Dr. Melamud is a real pro, a highly skilled technician with excellent patient relations skills as well. Once again, during my retina repair procedure on November 11, I was in good hands with him. I trust his analytic judgment and his surgical skills. If I were a pro soccer coach, I would put him on the same team with Messi, Ronaldo, Pirlo and Salah.

My first indication of an issue with AMD was on a Saturday. I wrote a message on the portal stating I feared a bleed and received a video consultation within hours and was told to come straight to the office no appointment necessary. I received my first injection in the left eye and have been returning every 28 days for injections, regrettably in both eyes now, for over two years. I have received injections from other physicians, but Dr Melamud is the only one who has managed to perform the injections without inflicting much if any pain. He truly has a magic touch. I am very grateful and pleased with him and his practice all of whom are very friendly and helpful.

Had a 2:45P appt. Checked in at 2:15P. Techs did my workups, Had a detailed checkup by Dr. Melamud. Checked out and hit the elevator to go down at 2:42P. Not just quick, but efficient and professional at every turn from check in to check out!. Oh, and this was on a Friday afternoon! They should add a 6th star option above!

Most recently, I thought I had an immediate problem and they took me right in even though the schedule was already full. Very professional office!!! Dr. Melamud and his entire crew are just consummate professionals. They are focused on answering your questions and making sure you understand everything before you leave. The front desk people are absolutely incredible; the are efficient beyond words. I've been going to the Sterling office and those folks are great also. That said, the Reston operation is an absolute model to be emulated. Now, back to Dr. Melamud for the rest of the review. Truth in lending, he's been my guy for a while and I will say this without hesitation. Without Dr. Melamud's skill and expertise, I know I would have lost the sight in my right eye. I can easily say that without any hesitation. Bottom Line: You need retina work done, you go see him. He is an absolute titan because he is quiet, he listens, and is laser- focused on your eye health. Dr. Melamud will do everything he can to keep your vision the very best it can be. I never see anyone else. If you become his patient, then you can rest easy!
