There are better doctors out there.
When I was 25 I had an anal fissure that needed repair. I was referred to this Dr by my PCP as they shared an office together. As he is a nice guy leading up to the surgery, told me he was the only one qualified for the procedure in SoCal. The day of the procedure, his staff members intentionally had me not sign a piece of paperwork allowing my parents to answer questions on my behalf while under relaxers before going into the procedure. Come to find out a year later, he didn't perform the anal fissure procedure, he only performed the removal of polyps in my colon because I never consented to allow my parents to confirm the anal fissure fix. Then blamed it on me for not signing the proper paperwork. On top of that, his staff didn't make aware we were out of network until AFTER the surgery. Post Op - the reviews are accurate, hes dismissive, neglectful and didnt care. I had to fly home to a doctor my parents suggested to receive the proper care. I wouldnt suggest this doctor.

Dr. Tovar saved my life
I am a 91 male. I needed emergency surgery. Dr Tovar was with me all the way from ER to surgery. He assured me that everything would be alright and with a smile. He followed up with me and made sure I got the after surgery care I needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to call on Dr. Tovar again.

He shouldn't be performing surgeries anymore, period, his technique is outdated, and what is with his rudeness!! he is like that with everyone it seems!

Just a few days ago, I had have emergency gallbladder surgery, I was placed in the hands of Dr. Tovar. I was a bit nervous not knowing who he is or the skill level. I was EXTREMELY satisfied with entire process. Step-by-step with reason, logic and the heightist level of compassion he and his support staff explained everything to me. I give Dr Tovar and everyone on his staff A+ reviews. They did an amazing job!

Do NOT let him perform any surgery on you!!!!!!! He forgot to order pain medicine for me after my surgery and I had NO PAINKILLERS for an OVER 1:30+. When I asked him about it he was very rude to my mother and I he blamed it on the anesthesia and said it was their fault. The DOCTOR is responsible for prescribing painkillers after surgery, NOT the anesthesiologist. I will be taking further action NO ONE should go through the agony of not having pain medicine after a major surgery!!
