GREAT DOCTOR
Dr. Segal was very warm and caring! He is a real person that anyone could talk to in a relaxed manner. This doctor does not assume that you are an IDIOT, because you never earned a medical degree. He does NOT talk down to you!! That is important. I believe that he really cares about people and wants to help them!!! I gave him the highest rating for good reason.

Dr Segal missed my dermatomyositis/scleroderma diagnosis simply because of his attitude. He refused me that my symptoms existed, was condescending, and just plain rude. He was in the room for under 3 minutes. Go somewhere else. You can't afford to lose time with immunological disorders.

I had an appointment at 2P and got there on time. Was sent a text to notify when I arrived. Upon recieving my text, I got a return text telling me they were ready to see me. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes and then told them that if I wasn't seen by the doctor by 3P, I would be leaving, since I'd left work early to be there on time for my appt. Being a nurse, I left my floor and another nurse had to come relieve me. My vitals were taken and then I informed the MA that if another half hour goes bye without being seen by the doc, I'd be leaving. I still hadn't been seen by 3P, upon which I informed the receptionist I was leaving. I asked why I wasn't called to be told that the dr. was running over an hr. behind and was told that it's not their policy. No apologies, no nothing. Oh and I was reminded several times by the rude receptionist to pinch my mask at the nose. Unless you have no life, don't visit this doctor. They have zero consideration for one's time.

I have seen Dr. Segal for years and he has always been extremely thorough and caring. He listens and offers treatment options. The UH office staff is also very good. If there is an emergency the waits may be longer, but that is normal.

Dr Segal is an adequate physician, however, his clinical staff lacks compassion and caring for patients. The staff is disorganized and be prepared for a long wait in the waiting room.
