Dr. Niharika Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharma is an amazing rheumatologist that basically helped me save the quality of my life. I have a very complex medical history that involves a lot of head scratching. Not only Dr. Sharma was patient, very kind and sympathetic, but also very knowledgeable and open minded. I have been to at least 8 different rheumatologists and none of them were able to devise a working treatment plan like Dr. Sharma. I am finally in remission and my medications are perfectly calibrated, all thanks to Dr. Sharma. I highly recommend her as a specialist in her field.

Thousands of dollars billed for office visits, blood tests and X-rays. No help received for 10/10 pain. Told to come back IN A YEAR!

I will start by saying that her office staff, Tina Russell in particular and her receptionist, Cinda are absolutely wonderful and extremely caring, often going over and above to help patients. The complete opposite can be said about Sharma who is frequently late for appointments, never offers an apology, rarely listens to patient concerns and dismisses them readily with an apathetic attitude. She also violated my privacy by reading my private message to my PCP and upon learning that I was looking for another rheumatologist, retaliated by attacking me during my appt and falsely accusing me of having been rude to her staff. There have been no issues whatsoever with her staff, only with her, and some of her staff have even left her (eg., her nurse, Ariana) likely due to her immature attitude and bad temperament. Her assistant, Jessica, proactively offered to file a complaint on my behalf with her manager and the privacy violation is currently being reviewed by the Ombudsman’s office

She is a very caring doctor. Her office staff is amazing too.

Dr. Sharma is not a good listener. She referred me to pain management instead of taking time to investigate my multiple issues.

Dr. Sharma is an outstanding doctor and she is very close to her patients. She is on time with her appointments and very knowledable with Lupus. I recommend her to anyone

Yes....i would recommend Dr.Sharma to my family and friends....she is the most patient doctor that i have ever been to....she's thorough. ....and she listen.....Im really going to miss her!!!

Dr. Sharma has been my rheumatologist for three years in Birmingham. She is has a very sweet and calming personality. She is very easy to talk to, and always listens to what I have to say. I have had to communicate with her before through my patient portal and she has always responded by the next day. I have recommended her to a friend and my friend also loves her.

Dr Sharma is a wonderful and caring doctor, who really takes her time and talk with her patients. I am so very grateful for the understanding and help that she has given me, she's awesome.

Dr. Sharma made my life worth living again. I was unable to walk or lift my arms to even put on or take off my clothes! She had me 75% better the first visit and it progressed from there. Up until I went to see Dr Sharma no one could diagnose me or help me and I continued to get worse. She will always be my miracle doctor!!!! Dr. Sharma is with out a doubt the very best.

You can't go wrong with Dr Sharma! Her warm and caring personality was paramount in my wife's recovery! Also, I can honestly say we never felt rushed in her office. Doctors like her are a rare find nowadays! We were blessed to find her and I recommend Dr Sharma to anyone!

Dr. Sharma is an excellent rheumatologist. She listens and asks questions. She is always willing to work with her patients and listens to them. You can feel confident that she has your best interest at heart. I love that she is willing to try many treatments and she treats me as a person and not just a patient.

Dr.Sharma is amber great Dr. She listens to what you have to say. Her practice is very great and professional.

I have been going to Dr Sharma for over 2 years now and I learned today that she will be leaving Birmingham. I am really going to miss her. When I first started coming to her for my RA, I was in bad shape because all the other doctors that I had seen in the past felt life all the pain I was in was just in my mind, but Dr Sharma knew it was real and she started treating me from day one. She helped me to get my life back and to start back living again. She was a heaven sent to me!!!!!!!!

Dr. Sharma is a wonderful doctor. She is very attentive and easy to talk to. She has been with me every step of the way battling with my lupus. I will truly miss being a patient of Dr.Sharma.

Everything you tell her, she doesn't listen. She will ask a question and interrupt you before you can finish answering I feel ignored, more alone and totally hopeless. More so than even before the appointment.

She didn't seem to listen to what I was telling her. She told me on my first visit that I needed to go back to the specialist that had sent me to her because she didn't know what was causing my symptoms. She didn't even try. Her staff was great, but she seemed like she just didn't want to be there.
