Dr. Alok Bhattacharyya, MD

I was referred by my primary dr. and told to get MRI. Bhatt would not order one. Told me I had carpal tunnel and sent me on my way. I got a second opinion and had the MRI. Come to find out I had a large tumor in a bad place on my spinal cord where it meets the brain stem. Had an 11 hour surgery to remove. Thank God I did because I was told that had I fallen (again) or turned my head wrong I could have died or been paralyzed.

I have never met anyone as rude as this doctor, he treated me and my friend like we were trash. He was yelling at us because we didn’t bring medical records with us. His office didn’t have the Epic system that would show the previous doctors appointments and records. We also brought the referral which included the diagnosis and we also had the cd with the MRI. He refused to look at the referral or the CD. My friend has been suffering with debilitating pain from 2 herniated disks for over a year. She is only 50 and most days can’t get out of bed. We were so excited that we finally found a neurologist that takes medical and had an appointment available so soon. My friend is wonderful sweet woman and didn’t deserve the treatment she got from this so called doctor.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I went to him because I was having numbness and pain on my right side. He used already used tape on one of his tests on me. Told me I had Carpel Tunnel but it wasn't bad enough for surgery. Sent me home. Went for second opinion, glad I did! I had a large tumor on my brainstem amd spinal cord. Went through an 11 hour surgery. Was told that had I fell or turned my head, I might have been paralyzed or die. RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS MAN!!

I've never written a review but I just have to with this doctor! He is totally unprofessional. His office it looks abandoned the weeds are 3-4 feet tall. He had to sit down the hole time because he was so winded he didn't even close to door which made it very uncomfortable knowing there were at least 5 other patients in the office. I went there for numbness in my toes and he didn't even check my feet! He only tested my arm reflexes and then told me to get new shoes!

Very uncaring and rushes to see next patient. Did mt help me at all or want to listen to me. I feel like I've ben punished.

I have been seeing Dr. Bhatt for 12 years for my migraine headaches. He is a very sensible no-nonsense physician with common sense. He carries great compassion towards his patients and listens. He has been such a great help to me and I respect and appreciate him and his opinions very much.

Terrible experience. office is old and needs to be painted. Office staff unorganized, nobody at window attending to patients. Office staff loud can hear everything they are talking about including bad mouthing the doctor. I was told after the fact I needed cash or check for my co payment. Didn't take credit cards needs upgrade Drove 1 hour to go to appt. Was turned away after 1 hour waiting.Told it was my responsibility to ask that questions for payment by rude doctor. No help for health issue.
