Dr. Alpa Nick, MD

Dr. Nick is competent and easy to talk with. I've had no difficulty in making appointments and having them kept timely.

She was very kind and listens and explains things when you have questions

Dr. Nick goes way above & beyond what most people I know have come to expect from doctors. She earns respect & confidence from her patients daily. She saved my life & I know I wasn't the best patient at times but she always treats me with respect.Dr. Nick saved my life.

She took me in as a patient Immediately, she return my daughter's phone call on the 4th of Jan after holidays, that impressed me. I was in Atlanta Georgia, and she was in Texas, but she was able to take my insurance. And made my appointment to on January 17th, I was impressed and appreciated her taking me on as a patient, so quickly. She made me feel like I was in good hands and I was. She is devoted to her patients and does everything she can to help them.

Dr. Nick explained everything that I was going to go through once I was diagnosed with cancer , she took so much time to explain exactly what I was going to go through…her compassion and information and knowledge was beyond what I could’ve expected.

Dr. Nick was very patient and willing to answer any questions. She was very thorough during my first appointment and took time to explain different options. Her follow up with telehealth was the same.

She was very concerned about how I was doing and my feelings. She listened to what my concerns were about and she was very understanding.

Doctor Alpha Nick is a sweet soft spoken doctor who knows hownto get a serious point across without being rude or ugly. She explains things in a way that I am able to understand. Dr. Nick put me at ease during my biopsy. She cares about me and my health - Dr. Nick has even called me from her cell phone to ensure that I was feeling well and that was trying to figure out what was going on. I am looking forward to being a Cancer Survior with Dr. Nick.

Dr. Alpa Nick is competent, efficient, and empathetic to her patients’ problems. Dr. Alpa is staying on top of the latest cancer treatments and the side effects of the medications.

Dr. Nick is an incredibly intelligent thorough surgeon. My experiences have been nothing but compassionate and informative. I was surprised to read a recent patient's review. Most cancer patients are more interested in the best outcome and LIVING than the best way to obtain pain medications even before they have had the surgery because a friend who had surgery before said she needed narcotics??? Narcotics and opioids do NOT help your already compromised health. More toxins.As a patient who wants to live, we follow the doctor's instructions strictly! Two surgeries ( one lasting 5 hours) and I was not in pain. Dr Nick works with the anesthesia provider to administer different medication types during surgery to avoid pain after surgery. If you do what you are asked like get out of bed the next day, have healthy nutrition, then there is no belly pain from constipation(from pain meds) or from laying in a bed. You have cancer to fight! Don't blame the Dr. for not doing your part!

standoffish in nature, not very 'warm and fuzzy' which I was ok with (as long as she was an excellent surgeon), downplayed surgical incision/scarring and recovery time, resistant to ordering necessary pain medications, defensive with questions and very quick to discharge from services before I felt ready. positive notes – was able to get in quickly and schedule surgery quickly.

I would not be here without her, an incredible caring Doctor.

How many physicians will give you a way to reach them, at any time? Morning, noon, or night? Alpa has returned my calls when on her commute, at a ballgame for crying out loud. She has no "pride"...when our situation required a bigger team, she set us up at the Mayo Clinic. Yet she remained in touch with the Mayo team during every step. Alpa is basically shy. That can be off-putting I suppose. But she is a BRILLIANT doctor, respected at MD Anderson, the Mayo Clinic, and beyond. She's a legend that cares. That is Alpa Nick. She is still caring for my wife. She is like family at this point. In short, we love her.

I will start by saying I have never had any surgery before my diagnosis. Dr Nick was very understanding with all of my concerns and she explained in detail all the things that was going to happen.I was very nervous but she put my fears to rest. The day of surgery I was at peace because of her. My surgery was a success. Dr Nicks is the best.

I would like to say that Dr. Nick is brilliant! Her long wait times means she is working to save someone’s life! I don’t mind waiting 2 hours to see her, she is a busy, skilled care provider and I appreciate all she does and her wonderful, compassionate staff. None of the idle chit chat, she is all about care of the patient and will do anything within her power to provide for the patient. She is the most proactive doctor I have been privileged to be provided care.

Dr. Nick was amazing through my hospital stays, surgery and all my follow ups. Couldn't ask for any better treatment.
