Great Physician
I’ve known Dr. DeWitt since 2003 when he performed my Gastric Bypass. Over the years I’ve had the need for a general surgeon several times and he has done them all. I would not hesitate to use or recommend him. I have to wonder about the bad review that someone gave him because it was so bad that it looked fake. One of my surgeries was an emergency and the ER physician wanted to send me home. I said, I’m not leaving until you call Dr. DeWitt. Shortly I was in the OR having surgery. He is compassionate and has never made me feel rushed. No matter how busy he gets or the number of patients he has waiting he always has a positive attitude and a smile. He is also a leader in Robotic surgery. I had a friend that had Gastric Bypass about the same time I did with another doctor. Her doctor only sees you for five years. Dr. Dewitt sees u for life. He was willing to take her as a pt when she developed life threatening symptoms related to her prev surg.

He lets his residents operate with minimal oversight. His outcomes are terrible, many patients wind up in the ICU for days or weeks. Go in healthy and end up having your stomach removed. He seems like a good guy who knows what he is doing but MUCH worse outcomes than the other surgeons. Stay away

Dr. Dewitt and his staff are amazing. They walk you through every single step from pre-surgery diets to after care. He is the only doctor I have recommended to all my friends and family for bariatric weight loss options. I had surgery about 4 years ago and lost over 200 pounds and have kept it off with their continued support.

He is the most caring doctor of there, he has a wonderful personality, doesn't rush through appointments and truly listens to his patients concerns. Although us his wait for of long. But I have always been warned ahead of time, just remember, if he's busy that says slot about him.

An hour and a half in the waiting room and 35 minutes waiting in a room is ENTIRELY too long to wait for any doctor. It's like this every time.
