I am in the beginning stages of planning for hip replacement.The staff is very in tune with treating with with what feels like one on one care. As busy as Dr Kay’s practice is I find that remarkable.

I was lucky enough to meet Dr Kay 3 years ago when my Mom broke her hip. Dr Kay was so wonderful with her. Her surgery and recovery went so very smoothly. This past June I found I was in need of a hip replacement after an accident and knew right away I wanted Dr Kay to perform my surgery. Dr Kay is a Top Doc in my book. I went from excruciating pain to no pain in the hip joint. My recovery was simply amazing, so much so, I recently had my other hip replaced. My current recovery is just as I expected, fabulous. Besides being an exemplary surgeon, Dr Kay has a beside manner that is very kind and comforting. He truly cares about his patients and I recommend him highly.

Dr Kay is personable, highly competent and listens well to me as the patient.

From the first visit on I appreciated Dr Kay’s clarity and directness in answering my questions. I felt he was never pressing me toward surgery, but once I made the decision, I was glad I did! I was walking to the mailbox with a cane three days after surgery and back to a normal life even faster than anticipated. He and his operating team are friendly and reassuring. I always felt he had the time to hear my questions, and he was good about explaining my X-rays to me. I can’t recommend Dr Kay highly enough.

Dr Kay is an excellent doctor and a gifted surgeon. After many months of knee pain and appointments with him, knee replacement was finally decided. Surgery was performed in December of last year. He took the time to answer all my concerns before and after the surgery. Office visits with him post op were informative and cordial. My last visit with him was a few days ago with the assurance that I could make an appointment with him if need be in the future. I would also like to thank Colby Masse for his assistance and professionalism when I would see him.

Dr Kay and his staff are wonderful! They listen and explain everything to you. Had a hip replacement and partial knee and doing great! I highly recommend Dr. Kay and have!

saw Dr. Kay after several years of living with an arthritic hip. Dr. Kay recommended physical therapy as a first step. But after six months of PT, it became clear that wasn't going to give me back the mobility I lost. So Dr. Kay performed an anterior hip replacement. To say that the result was LIFE CHANGING is an understatement. I no longer have the constant ache, I can sleep through the night, I'm walking without a limp, and can once again go on hikes with my dogs. The recovery wasn't nearly as bad as I had heard or read. I ditched the walker after a few days and the cane after a week. And six weeks of PT has helped give me back the strength I had lost. If you are dealing with a similar issue, don't live another day in pain. I cannot recommend Dr. Kay and his staff highly enough.

From my first appointment with Dr. Kay, I felt confident that I was in good hands. After a very successful total knee replacement followed by an injury at three weeks in, the care and concern Dr Kay offered was comforting to say the least. His physician assistant, Colby and the entire staff that I’ve dealt with at OrthoRhode Island have been fantastic. This type of injury was significant and the concern he showed, thorough explanations, and answers to all my questions were greatly appreciated. It was nice to see a provider that still makes you feel like you the patient is most important.

My experience w Dr Kay was excellent! He explained the procedures and expectations with details that were easy to understand. My office visits with Dr Kay always made me feel very confident in his abilities as my surgeon I really liked his direct approach to answering all my questions and concerns. I had total right hip replacement surgery and feel fabulous again. Dr Kay’s recommendations before and after surgery were very instrumental in my incredibly fast recuperation. Dr. Kay is a very personable person and knowledgeable in orthopedic joint replacement. He conducted a very thorough exam of both my knees and hips where he diagnosed significant osteoarthritis in all four joints. He replaced my left hip using the Mako robotic technique and five months later replaced my left knee also using the Mako robotic technique. He and his whole surgical and PT teams are top notch professionals and were instrumental for my very successful recovery and rehabilitation and I look forward to them getting my right side repaired in the near future. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kay, his team and the OrthoRI facilities for your orthopedic health care.

Dr. Kay performed my hip replacement in August and I have to say the whole experience has been as good as I could have expected. He answered questions and explained the procedure as thoroughly as possible, making me confident in my decision to have it done. His staff was always available to answer additional inquiries I had. The outcome has been even better than I expected. Was mobile within a week with little pain. If I ever need my other hip replaced I wouldn’t hesitate to have Dr. Kay take care of that one too!

I cannot walk my normal walk any longer. I am in constant pain. I refuse to have the fifth surgery.

Dr. Kay made me feel comfortable and confident that he could restore my hip to function properly with no pain. He and his team explained the operation fully from beginning to completion and answered all my questions. After suffering for several years and experiencing extreme difficulty walking and doing simple tasks, I decided to go ahead with a total replacement of my right hip. That was one year ago today. Thanks to Dr. Kay I have been able to do all the things I used to do. I got my life back. I would highly recommend Dr. Kay.
