We will be switching providers
Had a very concerning experience with Dr. K. We called my grandfather’s PCP after hours after finding my otherwise healthy grandfather passed out on the floor and bringing him to the ER. Dr. K was the on-call doctor, and we were told he could access my grandfather’s medical records to shed light on what might be going on. The concern was that my grandfather had had an unknown medical procedure earlier in the week, and that his condition could be time sensitive. Dr. K was not sensitive to the situation at all—he told us he couldn’t access his computer to view records (though said he usually could), chided us for calling after hours (what are doctors on call for?), & said nothing about when/if he would be able to access those records. He said to let the hospital figure it out. My grandfather recently had sepsis, and time was precious in helping him then. Not sure why Dr. K appeared to feel no responsibility in helping provide care to a patient at the practice for which he was on call.

No wonder he works at a walk-in. No one would want this guy as a doctor. My cat has a better bedside manner. He thinks a 19-year-old who's been sick for 5 weeks--severe congestion, cough, headaches, earache, sore throat--worsening over two courses of antibiotics is "fine" because of the absence of a fever. "What do you expect me to do for her?" Really, you're a doctor?

Walk-in to Sarasota Memorial Urgent Care Center. He was respectful, listened well, explained things well, didn't feel rushed, even though it was late on Sunday evening. Very pleased with his treatment and advice.
