Dr. Anup Khatana, MD

I have glaucoma. I had a surgery to place a tube in my eye to help with drainage. That did not work. Dr. Katana recommended that I have a bigger tube. I had 3 eye surgeries that year and rejected his recommendation because I have had as many healing periods as I could take. Dr. Khatana was very upset and was very rude and uncaring. I choose to seek another opinion. I went to Midwest Eye Center for a 2nd opinion. Dr. Louis Schott said he could try a laser procedure (Dr. Khatana said this procedure would not work for me). It worked. My eye pressures are normal and have been since I went to Dr. Schott. He is a very good ophthalmologist. If you are not happy with CEI, (I wasn’t) get a 2nd opinion from him. He saved me from a 2nd surgery. The 1st surgery was unnecessary. An error on Dr. Khatana’s part.

After more than 6 years in Dr. Khatana's care he has corrected my cataracts, reduced my eye pressure and managed my risk of macular degeneration. All while making sure I was always informed and understood procedures and was part of the decisions. He also enrolled me in an FDA study that lowered my eye disease risk and made maintenance easier.
