Very nice chap with a kind personality. However, I had 2 invasive procedures after which he said “Oh we are going to do a green light laser to cut away the problem areas in your prostate” with no discussion or information about possible impact on the future quality of my lifestyle. I ended up with a bladder infection within 15 hours of the procedures. I called his office 3 times to talk to him about it- which would have been an easy call in for a scrip. Waited all day an he never called back. Ended up spending $200 and 2 plus hours at the emergency room to get the needed antibiotic. Regardless of how personable he is, that lack of information and lack of response is completely unacceptable. No way will I use him for anything else.

I had a circumcision done by Dr. Porter, because of complications due to phimosis. After some initial healing, I went back for a follow up visit. He was happy with his work.. I was not. Crooked surgery lines, along with poor, overhanging skin results, leads me to believe, Dr. Porter may not be well qualified in this area of urology. Had this been done to him or his son, I don’t believe he’d find these results acceptable and would probably have a fit.. If it’s at all possible, a surgery site shouldn’t be left with poor visual results. If one isn’t good at a particular kind surgery, the professional way to handle that would be refer the patient to someone better qualified. Nobody in their right mind would want a poor paint job on their antique automobile...

The longer I stayed with him as my urologist, the more problems i had. Performed several surgeries following cancer treatment. Not successful. Had to be reversed. I ended up in ER after he inserted catheter incorrectly. Missed over 3 months of work due to complications.

Dr. Porter performed a cystoscopy resulting in extensive bleeding, blood clots and pain. I spent 1 night @ Hillcrest and was discharged with a Foley catheter. Pain cont'd with more clots sending me to CCF ED and CDU. I went to his office to remove catheter & speak with him. The catheter could not be removed, I made an apt., earliest was in 9 days and left a message for him to call. He didn't call until I sent a message saying I wanted any surgery done at CCF main.
