Terrible experience
Dr. Kitko was nice enough at my OB appointments and was comfortable having him do my scheduled C-Section since my previous doctor left the practice. My surgery was delayed by 4 hours and Dr. Kitko expressed his frustration. During the C-section he left after getting the baby out and left a resident to finish sewing my abdomen up. Later that night I began hemorrhaging which caused my incision to open. He never came to check back on me and tried send me home after 2 days in which the nurses advocated for me to not listen to him and stay so I could heal. The night before I left, I started hemorrhaging again from my incision. When I asked to speak directly to a doctor not a resident I got him. He was condescending and minimized my experience. I have 3 children. If it weren’t for the nurses at Akron General, I would have died. Consider carefully choosing this doctor or hospital before having your baby there.

Best OB I’ve had
Dr. Kitko was the fourth OB I saw after being so disappointed by previous appointments. After the first appointment I knew he genuinely cared for his patients and was in this career for the right reasons. He’s also preformed a major surgery on me and completed it while making sure I was comfortable and had all the information the entire time and took great care, making sure I was comfortable and healthy post opp. I’ll recommend him to anyone!
