I was referred to Dr. Pearson for a fast growing meningioma with associated brain inflamation. He thoroughly explained my options, and took his time to answer all questions. My surgery and recovery have been successful. I highly recommend Dr. Pearson

Dr. Pearson and Dr. McGrew performed surgery on me in July 2021. The surgery was extensive. Although I didn't have the outcome I wanted, none of this can be blamed on Dr. Pearson or Dr. McGrew. The tumor was just too large to save my hearing. I have been a nurse for over 35 years and Dr. Pearson has THE BEST bedside manner I have ever seen. He is passionate about what he does and compassionate with his patients. He and his office staff have been outstanding in their follow up care with me. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Pearson and highly recommend him.

Dr Pearson diagnosed what was causing the neuropathy in my left leg on my first visit. I had a tumor pressing on my perineal nerve. I had lived with chronic pain for 3 yrs. I continued to have ongoing pain in both my legs after that so a couple of years later I had a lumbar laminectomy that removed pressure off the nerves in my lower back which again was successful. Everything Dr. Pearson has said that would fix my problems has worked. I would highly recommend him for any kind of neurological procedure.

I have been in pain for at least 15 years and was told by 4-5 neuro surgeons that my problem was inoperable. after my rheumatologist recommended Dr Pearson, i went but did not expect to have surgery. He had reviewed my MRI and records prior to seeing me and said he could fix the problem with an outpatient procedure. I was cautiously optimistic. I had the surgery and my pain was completely gone when i woke up from aesthesia. it has been 1 week and other than some mild incision pain the back pain is gone. I can't explain how happy i am.

I would highly recommend Dr. Pearson to anyone. He preformed a cervical disc replacement on me and everything went flawlessly. His bedside manner was awesome and he took plenty of time to make sure all my questions were answered and my mind was at ease. His staff is great and the whole process went smoothly. I cannot say enough good things about him and I feel like he gave me my life back after suffering for a long time.

I had to have surgery on my lower spine. I had a herniated disc with tremendous pain from sciatica that had caused me to limp to the point of almost ruining my hip. He did the surgery and immediately upon waking, the nerve pain was gone. He was very kind to my family & I and explained it all very well, what was going on when he went in and how he fixed it. I’m very very pleased with my progress. I highly recommend him. Blessed to have found him. Birmingham needed him !

I am not a patient - I was trying to be. I called for an appointment and was told I needed a referral from my Dr. (my insurance does not require this) so I got my Dr to provide a referral- now before making an appointment I need to provide the scans and another Dr.'s write up. You were refereed by a friend but you make it too difficult to make an appointment!! I am afraid to get the write-up and MRI because when I call back you will tell me there is something else I need.

No star from me. He is the most condescending Dr. I've ever met. He don't care not one bit about you. He does not listen to anything you say. He is not the one in pain...but by golleys he is a know it all's (so he thinks) and very rude! No compassion what so EVER! I would not recommend him to dying person, because they wouldn't have a chance in the world with Dr.Balke Pearson. Love, Jaime Fowler

He fat shamed me too when my back was broken and J had a bone embedded in my spinal cord. He said he couldn't help me but wanted to do an MRI anyway. After the MRI he called and said he needed to do surgery. The first time I saw him he was so arrogant about my weight. Before surgery at the consult he was kind and said this was going to be the most serious surgery he had ever done. He did the surgery and his bedside manner was cold. He said it would be very painful and I got pitiful help. Rude

He yelled at me during initial visit regarding incontinence. He was inconsiderate of my concerns and rushed. He stated I had options and did not allow me an option. Added another surgery without explaining anything to me. He documented that he fully explained second surgery. I was informed me of a hospital policy that greatly restricted my rights and ability to have surgery. Administration of hospital backed it up but corporate did not. When I went for a second opinion. I was dropped.

I would not recommend this quack to anyone. Told me nothing was wrong but would not be able to walk in 15 years. Yeah that makes a lot of sense. He is arrogant and no bedside manner. Very unprofessional!! Would not send my worse enemy to see him. Did not even look at my MRI's only X-rays! Now we all know MRI's show more. Please whatever you do do not go see this quack of a doctor if you truly need help with back problems. He is not going to do anything to help you!!
