The worst experience ever
I loved Dr Portman but Dr Esparza is the worst insensitive money hungry Dr in the area. I'm disabled and live on limited income they stopped giving necessary injections and medications because of a copay after collecting 100000s from Medicare now I need surgery because they didn't limit the damage don't see him ever

!!!Friendly awesome crew!!! I have been dealing with Dr Esparza for over 10 years for extreme chronic pain in my hands, neck and back. Dr Sean Portman and Dr Esparza are some of the smartest doctors I’ve ever dealt with and unfortunately I’ve met allot of doctors in my life!!! The staff is wonderful the girls are beautiful and fun to talk to!!! Not sure where Dr Esparza found his staff but I could of only dreamt of having a awesome crew such as this when I was Executive Chef! You guys are awesome;) You all have a great Christmas and a happy happy New Years!!! ;) Be safe....

I have found both Dr. Esparza and Sean Portman, PA, to be good listeners even though others seem to have had different experiences. I like their approach which seemed to be one of collaboration with me by helping reduce pain to enhance my own efforts to main strength and function. Their care has been what I have needed.

I have been seeing Dr Carlos Esparza for over 10 years now for spinal degeneration due to scoliosis, various trauma from mv accidents, and over 38 years of work as a Registered Nurse (lifting, moving heavy objects, long hours, normal hazards encountered on the job or in daily life). Dr Esparza listens and observes with professional ability to see the issues at hand and then direct me on a path to reach my goals of remaining physically able to care for myself and do things in my life that keep it a quality life. He has treated me with trigger point injections and nerve root injections when needed. What do I appreciate about his care: the fact that he does not just give you pain meds and send you on your merry way, but he labors with you to live your best life using exercise and a minimum of medications to continue your life with less pain and more potential.

My son went there for a sciatica issue. Was sent to physical therapy by Sean the PA it went down hill from there. My son's first initial treatment was horrible. We ended up in the ER on Christmas because of the pain he endured from his Physical therapy treatment done. He proceeded to get worse as the physical treatments that were perscribed by Sean. I had to drive him to his follow up appt with Sean. And we told Sean that the trigger point therapy was NOT working. And that my son could not work due to this therapy. He just ignored what we told him and still continued to have the PT do this type of therapy knowing it put him in position where he's NOT able to work and I am having to care for him. His last treatment that was done I had to go find him in a parking lot near the office because of that particular treatment and he was in excruciating pain almost recked the car and I had to drive him to my house to help him with his pain once again. Sean did NOT listen to his patient!

Excellent. I was in extreme discomfort from sciatica. He gave me an injection which worked immediately. I was pain free when I left his office. The pain returned about 4 years later at which time I got a second shot. I’ve been pain free since (5 years).

Having been treated for serious back and neck issues by Dr. Esparza for over a decade, I have mixed reviews. He cares about his patients and can help if one's pain is due to a structural issue, as he knows exercises for proper body alignment. Yet, the amount of Trigger Point injections he performs are excessive and do little to help patients in the long term. He will prescribe muscle relaxants and pain medications but is totally unavailable to support his patients during withdrawal. Be wary.

I went to Dr. Esparza with a chronic back problem. I saw his PA the first visit and was very impressed with his knowledge and the time spent with me. I was scheduled for an epidural which was not successful. I followed up with him and was told I needed to be referred to a Neurosurgeon for possible surgery. He did not try to talk me into more epidurals so that he could bill for more appointments or procedures he put my best interest ahead of making money.

I was told by my doctor that Dr Edparza was excellent and could help me. I never saw Dr Esparza and only saw PA. He told Me there was nothing he felt he could help me with. I have been treated at a pain clinic for 18 + years and he can't help me! Seriously? What breaks my heart is that i give up! Unfortunately, I never saw Dr Esparza ! I paid to see Dr Esparza and why he didn't see me I don't know! I literally felt like a nobody when I left! I cried all the way home because I needed help!

Went to Dr. Esparza for many years and he misdiagnosed my issues, wasted my money on lidocaine shots, and wasn't certified to do any significant procedures. In other words, the best he could do was provide an insignificant bandaid. My suggestion would be forget Esparza and find a pain doctor who is also a bird certified anesthesiologist, if not, just give your money to the homeless on the street for better results! This guys a certified quack.
