Dr. Charles McCurley, MD

When we moved to San Antonio, I did a lot of research to find a primary care physician. Everything I found on Charles McCurley was positive and my husband and I became some of his first patients. He is absolutely the best doctor I’ve ever had in my life. He really cares about his patients. I can honestly say I have never one time left his office not feeling better mentally and physically than when I arrived. And to top it off, he saved my husband’s life. I have had several unexpected encounters with several of his patients who feel the same way I do. He is so intelligent, takes time to listen to his patients, and allows them to take part in their care. I can’t say enough good things about him. I just feel sad for all the people who have not been able to have him as their doctor.

Dr. Mccurley is a great physician and guy. Took great care of me for several years. However, his office dropped my UNH insurance without telling me, so my last three visits were out of network. I wound up having to pay out of pocket for those visits. The office staff was no help nor was UNH. If I'd been informed prior to those visits, I could have made other arrangements. My other doctors continued with UNH, so I had no choice but to go to another PC doctor, who I'm very grateful to have found. I'm sure had Dr. Mccurley been aware of this situation, he would have handled it differently.

My wife and I began going to see Dr. McCurley almost as soon as he opened a practice in Boerne. A doctor we had used for well over 30 years retired, and we wanted to find a new doctor with new ideas but with the same compassion and bedside manner we had found in our former provider. Dr. McCurley has proven to be just what we wanted and needed -- and more. He is bright, caring, knowledgable, and he has a great sense of humor. He is not in a hurry to send us to specialists, but he never hesitates to have us do blood work or other lab procedures to make sure we are "okay." We are very glad we chose Dr. McCurley -- and he chose us -- and we will be with him for, hopefully, years to come. (It doesn't hurt that he is a strong Christian and a Longhorn fan!)

I really like Dr. McCurley, he is so down to earth and does not necessarily prescribe to the traditional practice of medicine.
