I met Dr Breburda when he was rounding as the Cardiology attending of the academic teaching service at Banner University Medical Center. I just had bypass surgery and he followed me for heart failure, a condition I had no idea I had. I was in denial of my lifestyle and risk. He started me on all the newest medications I needed to have and convinced me to eventually have a defibrillator to protect my heart. He insisted I undergo rehab, which I initially opposed. He set me up with his heart failure clinic. He impressed with with his impeccable bed side manners, and engaged care. His office staff is fabulous and kind. He follows me with a new ultrasound method he developed, called strain echo. He uses it to improve my device function and can tell when my heart function gets worse even before I have symptoms. He prevented me having to go back to the hospital with his diligent monitoring. A really smart doc.

I am a patient of Dr. Breburda for the past 15 years. I was in bad shape when he first saw me. He took the time to address all my issues, review my lifestyle, diet, exercise and personal situation in detail. He explained my conditions in a way no other doctor was ever able to make me understand what my conditions mean and what my prognosis is. He only ordered testing and performed procedures when necessary, used only the necessary medication and explained all risks, benefits and possible complications. Dr. Breburda always tells me what I need to hear, but not what I want to hear In order to improve my health. At times he challenged me to take responsibility for my healthy lifestyle. I was able to quit smoking, loose weight and control my heart conditions. When I see Dr. Breburda he pays full attention to me, not distracted by computers or phone calls, unless he is on call for the emergency room. He tells me about the newest therapies. He is like family to me now.

I've been treated so rudely by a doctor. The moment Dr. Breburda walked into my exam room he acted like he didn't have time for me. At one point, in the middle of my sentence, he told me they were "really busy today." He listened to my heartbeat then wrote notes down with his back to me as he walked toward the door; I told him I had a few questions as he opened the door to leave. He sighed and said he had a phone call. I said, so can I ask my questions? He grunted and said he'd be back. When he came back into the room I was so flustered I said never mind, you clearly don't have time. He didn't even reply. I reported this to the office manager who knew exactly what I was talking about. She has dealt with his unprofessional rudeness many times and told me I would never have to see him again and reassigned me to another dr. The stress-test technician, Virginia, was rude too. I told her she must be friends with Breburda. She said "absolutely not." I found that quite interesting.

7/23/19 was my surgery date for a quadruple heart bypass, I’m 62. I was in Banner University SICU for 8 days and on day 2 I was asked who is your cardiologist, I told them Dr. Christian Breburda, that was when I saw him at the Maricopa Medical Center. Dr. B and Jan saw me that day and 5 more times in the SICU that was remarkable because he joined Heart & Vascular Center of Arizona. It’s easy to understand why he was recognized with awards for Most Compassionate Doctor and The Patient Choice Most Favorite Arizona Doctor. I was in the hospital a total of 9 and ½ days and released to home by myself. Vielen Dank Doktor Breburda HVCA is a efficiently organized doctor’s group. They have their ACT together. E X C E L L E N T customer service, I’m ecstatic I would use them in a heartbeat (lol); I will recommend them to family, friends, coworkers and anyone looking for an auspicious encounter.
