Piper’s Best Friend
Dr Bayne came into our lives in 2018 at Shands Hospital Gainesville, FL until he left in 2023. He was a GOD send. I owe my daughter’s life to him. She is very complex due to Spina Bifida. To reduce UTIs he installed a G-Tube in her bladder to pee in 2018 or 2019 and it’s been the best thing ever. He spent endless nights and days, for 10 weeks during multiple surgeries and shunt problems, with her after 18 hours of surgery where he did her bladder augmentation and MACE and it’s been the best thing for her. I call him the modern day Doogie Howser. Ha Ha Ha some make catch that. FYI he loves sour gummy worms and chocolate chip cookies. Him and my daughter would enjoy them during our clinic visits cause she would always bring them to him. We definitely miss him greatly

The best there is!
I'm alittle late but he took care of our daughter Briar McLeod last year who was born with a duplicating system..which is an extra ureter from her kidney to her bladder. At the time she had an infection also. She was also at the time 8 weeks old and he treated her like she was his baby. Down to earth man who makes u feel he is only there for your child. We love him and thankful he was the one to do the operation. We are forever blessed to know Dr. Bayne!!!!

Dr. Bayne is the most detailed, informative, patient, kind, professional physician. Not only that, he interacts with your child, the patient, involves them, draws diagrams, etc to help understand everything that is happening. He tells you ALL options and is receptive to concerns/questions. Wait times can be long but likely because he is giving all families the same care, which is excellent. So so grateful he is at Shands.

Dr Bayne was the resident who assisted with my partial nephrectomy surgery when it was performed by Dr Jarrett at George Washington in 2013 and took care of me post-op, when Dr Jarrett had to be away out of state. I'm motivated to write this on the 8th anniversary of my recovery because Dr Bayne still stands out in my memory as the best doctor I've ever met. Believe the other reviewer when they write that he is unlike any other doctor you'll ever encounter, in that he is so kind, so compassionate, so respectful of both your experience and your intelligence that you feel taken care of and safe during what can be a very scary time. He is a truly special human being and a very rare kind of doctor.
