Very personable
Dr. Shaw has a great bedside manner including being a great listener. He was very willing to answer questions and is forthcoming with no nonsense advice. I did not feel rushed.

I went for inflammation on my knee. He jumped at giving a cortisone shot or therapy. I asked if he read the X-rays & he replied I'm taking your word for the results of them, so which do you want? I replied I feel it's best to wait until the X-rays are sent, he replied don't have them sent to me have them sent to you. With that he brazenly said I'M A SURGEON & had one hand on the door knob to leave the examining room & said make a follow-up appointment. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK..STAY AWAY!

I had an great experience with Westfield Orthopedic Group. As I was cleaning I didn't see a duple lego on the floor. I dropped down onto the floor (on my knees) to finish cleaning up and my knee cap landed on the Lego. We had the MRI done to my left knee it revealed I had a meniscus tear. Dr. Shaw was amazing! Surgery was scheduled in February 2018. He was able to do 2 incisions instead of 3. I Followed instructions and PT - back to my old self which for me is priceless!

I went in for knee pain. He spent very little time examining me. He would ask me a question about pain, and as I'd begin to answer he'd rudely cut me off and ask a non-essential question ("Why do you like running?"). He threw out a lot of things it could be and said I'd be getting a cortisone shot. I insisted he review my X-rays first. He seemed annoyed by questions and snapped "I already said that" when I asked him to clarify. They refused to put my X-ray images on a disc. STAY AWAY!

We came to see Dr Shaw after frustrated with the doctor who performed the initial surgery on my mom’s knee. It was the best move we could have made. Dr. Shaw treated my mom like she was family! He spent time with us, did not rush through the exam, made sure my mom and I asked all our questions, and understood his prognosis and advice. Office staff was also friendly and helpful. ! We recently went for a follow up that was not an emergency and received the same caring and knowledgeable treatment.

Unsatisfactory. After initial consultation, he prescribed MRI. His office provided me with written instructions on how to deal with the insurance company, rather than take care of it themselves. Strike ONE. Went for MRI at outside facility. Forgot my prescription. His office refused to fax it over, because it was my responsibility to bring prescription and suggested I reschedule my MRI. Strike TWO. He won't discuss MRI results by phone, only in office. Fee hungry. Strike THREE.
