Great Doctor!!
Wonderful Doctor! Really LISTENS! Dr. David E. Burns is incredibly knowledgeable is his field. Takes time to listen and answer questions. He is very thorough. I’ve been to several specialists, and none have been as dedicated to helping me feel better. I was incredibly fatigued, didn’t have any energy, barely left the house I was in so much pain. I have my life back now thanks to Dr. Burns!!

Told me i had Psoriatic arthritis(without runnibg any tests) and then made me repeat it by saying "can you say psoriatic arthritis"...very condescending! I went to another rheumatologist and was told, in fact, that i did not have psoriatic arthritis. I also have a cousin who is a doctor and he agreed that i did not have it. Will never go back nor would i recommend him to anyone.

You will wait at least an hour if not two to see him. He is arrogant and doesn't know his meds as well as he claims to - he denied the existence of a black box warning on a prescription he wrote for me. He writes damning and incorrect things about you in his notes. There is at least one drug rep in his office every time I see him, and they're always talking about buying his office meals, etc. His office is still stuck in the 1980's - they have no patient portal, no electronic prescribing, and don't fax or email anything to patients. You have to drive there to pick up anything. He tells you that you can bring a spouse or they can call in, but that you have to pick only one of the two to talk, and the other person can't talk if they want to come. Finally, Rheumatology in general is somewhat of a Russian Roulette with biologics, but some other rheums at least give you a theory for what should work for you and why. He told me "read about them, tell me which you want, and I'll write it."

I can not say enough amazing things about Dr Burns. I went into his office in absolute despair, I am new to the Houston area, yet not new to the medical field as I have over. 25 years experience in it. He was my sixth physician here that I’ve seen and the ONLY one to offer compassion and eagerness to find the answers no one else would. His staff is the most sincere group of ladies with the most kind hearted personalities. From the moment I walked in to the moment I checked out they’re accommodating. I will probably move back to SC due to my health but I will fly in to see him as my rheumatologist.

Dr. Burns was the fifth rheumatologist and the fourth endochronologist I saw because I just couldn't get a diagnosis for all the things that were going on with me. No one helped me until Dr. Burns, in so many ways. I'm better today than I was 15 years ago, thanks to Dr. Burns. He's a great diagnostician, he monitors your blood work and general health, and he REALLY listens to his patients.

After seeing two other rheumatologists for terrible arthritis, I found Dr. Burns. What a relief to see a doctor who finally listens, is INTERESTED in finding what is causing my pain and then treating it. I never wait long and he actually gives me time and talks to me and answers questions. I would totally recommend him. Also, his staff is wonderful and friendly!!

Dr. Burns is a quack pill-pusher. I went to him for over six years, had to see him monthly and draw blood every month. Every time there was any change in my results, he prescribed an additional prescription. At one point, I was on 17 prescriptions. Always set 1st appointment time of 8am, never got in before 9:30, then had to fill out forms of "my little homework". Saw many patients walk out in anger because if they waited longer to see Dr. Burns, they would miss their flight. Once he sets his hook, you are locked in for life. When I started to question the pill load, he said I was rude and argumentative. If you are "hooked", don't walk away, run.

Excellent Doctor. He has been treating me for years & years. He treats me like a person not a number. I normally don’t wait long. However, when I do I understand because sometimes he is having to explain to patient that they have a disease or spending extra time with a patient who are going through s difficult time due to their Illness. He does the same for me. His staff is outstanding. Genuinely kind & caring. Doctor’s like Dr Burns are rare. I am very grateful for all the years of Amazing care.

This Doctor will listen to you and make it his priority to combine past and present medical history to better understand your situation. He is pours his heart and soul into his practice and patients. He was able to diagnose me with an autoimmune disorder in less than 5 months. (It usually takes an average of 8 years to diagnose with Sjorgrens.)

I went to Dr Burns for a second opinion and I was told I had a autoimmune disease. Finally I knew what was wrong with me. Dr. Burns place me on medication and weekly visits and weekly blood work. When I asked the Dr. Why so much blood work being done he said because of the meds and wouldn't say anything else. I started throwing up blood call the office and office staff told me the Dr. Don't talk to his patients over the phone. I went to the emergency room and ER doctor to get off this meds now

I am seeing 7 specialists because I have 2 autoimmune diseases, osteoarthritis, COPD, low thyroid, high cholesterol, weak vocal cords, vertigo and the beginnings of Alzheimer's. Dr Burns knew what was wrong with me even before he ran blood tests. He diagnosed me with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (which is an autoimmune disease) and Celiac Autoimmune Diseases. I know that I am in the best of hands with him. All of my other doctors praise his work and tell me that he is the best in his field. I believe
